What happens if you suddenly stop EZIMET S OINTMENT?
If you have been applying EZIMET S OINTMENT for a long time and your skin problem seems to have got better, you should not suddenly stop using the medicine. If you do, you may find that your skin becomes red and may notice a stinging or burning sensation. To avoid this, consult and discuss with your doctor before stopping EZIMET S OINTMENT.
Who should avoid applying EZIMET S OINTMENT?
EZIMET S OINTMENT is not recommended for use in patients allergic to mometasone, salicylic acid, topical polyethylene glycols and/or have rosacea (a skin condition affecting the face), acne (pimples), skin atrophy (thinning of the skin), dermatitis (skin inflammation) around the mouth, cold sores, shingles or chickenpox (viral infection), ulcerated skin and wounds.
How does EZIMET S OINTMENT work?
EZIMET S OINTMENT is used to treat symptoms of eczema, where Mometasone reduces the redness and itchiness of skin by blocking the production of prostaglandin (chemical messenger), which is responsible for causing redness and itchiness of skin and Salicylic acid helps in softening the moisture in the skin which results in the shedding of outer layer of skin thereby providing relief from the symptoms of eczema.
How EZIMET S OINTMENT should be applied at the site of infection?
Always apply EZIMET S OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. On the affected area, apply a thin layer of this medicine. It should not be applied under bandages or similar. Avoid applying the medicine around your eyes or mucous membrane. Your doctor will decide the duration and frequency of using this medicine depending upon severity of the condition.
