What ENTOFOAM ENEMA is used for?
It is used as an add-on therapy in the topical treatment of ulcerative proctitis, proctosigmoiditis and ulcerative colitis (inflammatory disease of the large intestine)

Talk to your doctor before using this medicine if you:
are allergic to Hydrocortisone or to any of the other ingredients
have disease which causes decreased resistance to infection
have damage to the rectal wall
have chicken pox or measles
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine

ENTOFOAM ENEMA is less likely to affect driving and using machines
Tell your doctor if you:
are using any other rectal medicines
are taking corticosteroids in any other form
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
The usual course of therapy is one ENTOFOAM ENEMA every night for 21 days. It may require as long as 2 or 3 months of ENTOFOAM ENEMA treatment. Where the course of therapy extends beyond 21 days, ENTOFOAM ENEMA should be discontinued gradually by reducing administration to every other night for 2 or 3 weeks
Shake the bottle before use
Remove the protective sheath from the applicator tip. Lie on left side with the left leg extended and the right leg flexed forward for balance
Gently insert the lubricated applicator tip into the rectum, pointed slightly toward the navel (umbilicus)
Grasp the bottle firmly, then tilt slightly so that the nozzle is aimed toward the back and squeeze slowly to instill the medication
Remain in position for at least 30 minutes to allow thorough distribution of the medication internally. Retain the enema all night, if possible
