DUMAN 0.5MG contains Dutasteride which belongs to a group of medicines called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. It is used to treat the symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in men with an enlarged prostate to improve symptoms, reduces the risk of acute urinary retention and the need for BPH-related surgery. Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) is a non-cancerous enlargement of the prostate gland in men.
Symptoms of Benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) may include difficulty in urination, urinary frequency and an inability to complete bladder emptying. It can also cause slower and less flow of the urine. If left untreated, there is a risk of acute urinary retention (urine flow will be completely blocked) which requires immediate medical treatment.
DUMAN 0.5MG prevents excessive Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) production in the prostate gland, delays the progression of an enlarged prostate and improves symptoms of BPH. It lowers Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) production in the body, leads to shrinkage of enlarged prostate in men. This medicine is intended for use only for men. It is not recommended for women, children and adolescents. The common side effects are low sexual drive, impotence and decreases sperm count. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you are taking any other medications.

Take DUMAN 0.5MG according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine whole, do not crush or chew. It can be taken with or without food.
Skin rash:
Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not rub or scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Regularly use moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. If does not get better, speak to a doctor.
DUMAN 0.5MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
This medicine is unlikely to affect your ability to drive or operate machines.
DUMAN 0.5MG is not recommended in patients with severe liver diseases. Before taking, discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Dutasteride.
