DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET is a combination of Ambroxol and Doxophylline, which belongs to the group of medicines called Mucolytics and Bronchodilators. It is used to treat asthma (the airways get narrow, swell and produce extra mucus, which leads to breathing difficulties, chest pain, a severe dry cough and a fast heartbeat) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (a lung disorder in which the flow of air to the lungs is blocked, leading to shortness of breath, a dry cough with phlegm, wheezing, fatigue and weight loss).
Limit the consumption of beverages and foods containing caffeine while taking DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET as it may increase the risk of side effects. DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with acute myocardial infarction and hypotension. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor for advice before taking DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET is not recommended for use by children under 6 years of age. The most common side effects of taking DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET may include taste changes, nausea and numbness in the throat and mouth. Contact your doctor if any of your symptoms get worse or persist.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET is a combination of Ambroxol that stimulates the production of a substance that lowers surface tension, which keeps the air sacs in the lungs from collapsing after exhalation. Doxophylline inhibits certain enzymes in the body called phosphodiesterase, which increases the substances that lead to muscle relaxation, leading to dilation of the constricted airway tract. It also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent to reduce inflammation. This combined action makes breathing easier.
Take DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. The correct dose and duration will be decided by your doctor for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop taking DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea:
Take this medicine with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating fiber-rich or spicy foods. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.
Taste changes:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice, to keep yourself hydrated. Rinse your mouth after each meal and clean your tongue once daily. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women as the medicine can cross the placental barrier. Consult your doctor for advice before taking it.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breastfed milk. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET does not affect the patient’s alertness and therefore does not interfere with the ability to drive and use machines.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with impaired kidney function. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Do not take DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET if you are allergic to Ambroxol, Bromhexine, Doxophylline or other Xanthine derivatives.
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with existing lung conditions such as chronic obstructive lung disorder, severe uncontrolled asthma, pneumonia or bronchial motor activity disorder along with excessive mucous secretion (risk of a mucous plug).
DOXOLL PLUS 400 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with acute myocardial infarction and hypotension. It should be taken with caution in patients with heart disease, hypertension, pulmonary heart disease, congestive heart failure and severe hypoxemia.
