DOXIFLO M TABLET is a combination of Doxofylline and Montelukast which belongs to the group of medicines called Bronchodilators and Leukotriene Receptor Antagonists respectively. It is used to treat asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
It can also be used to reduce airway inflammation (such as bronchitis), apnea (lack of breathing), seasonal allergic rhinitis (nasal congestion, repeated sneezing, nasal itching or a red, watery and itchy eyes) and other respiratory diseases associated with bronchospasm (tightening of airways).
Before taking DOXIFLO M TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have hypertension, hyperthyroidism, stomach ulcers or any concomitant infections as a precaution.
DOXIFLO M TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe hypotension or heart problems (such as myocardial infarction). It is also not suitable for use in breastfeeding women.
Inform your doctor before taking DOXIFLO M TABLET if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. The most common side effects of taking DOXIFLO M TABLET are nausea, vomiting, upper stomach pain, headache, irritability, upper respiratory tract infections, lack of sleep, skin rash and fast heartbeat or breathing. It blocks the release of certain chemicals (such as phosphodiesterase, leukotrienes) in the respiratory tract that triggers airway inflammation, swelling and narrowing. As a result, it widens the airways and reduces airway inflammation. This allows the air to pass through more freely through the airways which makes breathing easier.
Take DOXIFLO M TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration of therapy and number of doses per day depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Do not stop taking DOXIFLO M TABLET once your symptoms subside without consulting your doctor.
Stop taking DOXIFLO M TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea and Vomiting:
Take DOXIFLO M TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your symptom worsens.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
DOXIFLO M TABLET should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Your doctor will prescribe you with DOXIFLO M TABLET after evaluating the risks and benefits of the therapy.
DOXIFLO M TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
DOXIFLO M TABLET does not affect your ability to drive or operate machines. However, do not drive or handle any heavy tools or machines if your ability is affected by DOXIFLO M TABLET.
DOXIFLO M TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
