CONSEC 150MG TABLET contains Ranitidine which belongs to the group of medicines called H2 receptor antagonists. It is used in the treatment and prevention of intestinal, benign and post-operative ulcers. Peptic or intestinal ulcers are open sores that develop on the inside lining of your stomach and the upper part of your small intestine, causing stomach pain.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET is also used to treat reflux oesophagitis (inflammation of lower food pipe due to backflow of acidic stomach contents) and Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome (small tumour in the first part of your intestine due to excessive gastrin secretion).
Your doctor may occasionally perform tests to make sure CONSEC 150MG TABLET is working and to prevent side effects. Visit your doctor routinely for a check-up.
Avoid smoking during the treatment with CONSEC 150MG TABLET, as it may delay healing or worsen the ulcers. Before taking CONSEC 150MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have stomach cancer, kidney, lung or immunity problems, porphyria (rare blood disorder) or diabetes.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless your doctor finds it essential. For children, your doctor will determine a proper dose depending on your child’s age, body weight and disease condition. Contact your doctor if you experience any side effects or if any of the symptoms worsen.
Treats:
CONSEC 150MG TABLET contains Ranitidine that works by reducing the amount of acid made by the stomach, which helps relieve pain and also allows healing of an ulcer or reflux disease.
Take CONSEC 150MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Do not crush or chew it. Swallow CONSEC 150MG TABLET as whole with a glass of water. Your doctor will decide the right dose and duration of therapy according to your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking CONSEC 150MG TABLET unless your doctor advises you to stop.
Stop taking CONSEC 150MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea:
Take CONSEC 150MG TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Constipation:
Have plenty of fiber rich foods like fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink ample amount of water. Exercise more regularly. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to eat smaller meals in small breaks. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Skin rash:
Avoid hot showers because hot water can further irritate your skin. Do not scratch the affected area. Use protective clothing when going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your skin. Consult your doctor if your skin rash persists.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking it.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET has no or negligible effect on driving or using any heavy machineries.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not take CONSEC 150MG TABLET if you are allergic to Ranitidine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
CONSEC 150MG TABLET should be taken with caution in patients with lung disease, cough or chest infection. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Certain acid reflux medicines (H2 blockers) can also affect histamine and cause erectile dysfunction. Whereas some medicines of this class have the highest risk for ED, CONSEC 150MG TABLET have a lower risk. Consult your doctor for further queries.
Can I receive CONSEC 150MG TABLET before an operation?
Before undergoing any operation, inform your doctor if you are receiving CONSEC 150MG TABLET. This is because the doctor or surgeon can give you midazolam to make you fall asleep before operation and it can interact with CONSEC 150MG TABLET. Consult your doctor for further queries.
What if I forget to take a dose of CONSEC 150MG TABLET?
