CINTAPRO OD 3MG contain Cinitapride which belongs to a group of medicine called gastro prokinetic and antiulcer agent. It is used to treat gastrointestinal disorders associated with motility disturbances such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, non-ulcer dyspepsia and delayed gastric emptying.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease is a digestive disease in which stomach acid or bile irritate the food pipe lining. It is a chronic disease that occurs when stomach acid or bile flows into the food pipe and irritates the lining. Acid reflux and heartburn more than twice a week may indicate GERD. Non-ulcer dyspepsia (NUD) is a common problem where in patients suffer from indigestion and other symptoms suggestive of an ulcer. Delayed gastric emptying is a disorder that slow or stop the movement of food from your stomach to your small intestine. It is also called as Gastroparesis.
Always take CINTAPRO OD 3MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken before food and try to take at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It is not recommended for use in children. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. The most common side effects are drowsiness, diarrhoea.
CINTAPRO OD 3MG works by increasing the gastrointestinal movement by enhancing the frequency and strength of stomach muscle contractions. It also increases the secretion of acetylcholine in the stomach, thereby increasing the gastric motility, gastric emptying, and improves gastro-duodenal coordination.
