BRINTELLIX 10MG contains Vortioxetine which belongs to a group of medicines called antidepressants. It is used to treat depression and helps in reducing depressive symptoms, such as sadness, feeling anxious, disturbances in sleep, reduced appetite, reduced concentration, feeling of being slowed down. Depression is a mood disorder that causes a persistent feeling of sadness and loss of interest and can lead to a variety of emotional and physical problems. It is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and serotonin receptor modulator. It improves your mood, and energy level and may help restore your interest in daily living. It works by increasing the amount of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps maintain mental balance.
Take this BRINTELLIX 10MG according to the dose and frequency as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break the medicine. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have epilepsy (seizure disorder or fits), diabetes, liver, kidney disease, heart problems or taking any medications. It is not recommended in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, pregnant or breastfeeding. The common side effects are nausea, diarrhoea, constipation and vomiting.

Dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
Nausea:
Stick to simple normal meals and do not eat rich or spicy foods.
Vomiting:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks. Eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, greasy, or sweet foods.
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration. ORS should be used to prevent dehydration.
Constipation:
Eat fruits, vegetables whole grains and high rich fiber foods.
BRINTELLIX 10MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
BRINTELLIX 10MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause dizziness.
Interaction with alcohol is unknown. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption.
BRINTELLIX 10MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.

Do not take if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Vortioxetine or any ingredients of this medicine.
