Introduction:
Betadine mint gargle contains povidone iodine which kills a wide range of germs including bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores and simple organisms. It is used for the treatment of acute infections of the lining of the mouth and throat, for example, inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) and mouth ulcers. It is also used for cleansing the mouth (oral hygiene) before, during and after dental and mouth surgery.
It provides soothing relief of dryness or minor irritation of the mouth and throat. Use Betadine mint gargle only in the mouth as a gargle. Do not swallow. Always dilute the gargle with water. Swish part of the solution briefly in the mouth for 30 seconds and spit it out. Repeat the same for every 2-4 hours or as directed by your physician/dentist.
Do not stop using it until you have finished the complete course, even when you feel better. You must have to avoid eating, drinking, or smoking for at least 30 minutes after using it. Betadine mint gargle is not recommended in patients with thyroid or kidney problems. It is considered safe for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. However, consult your doctor before taking.
