    Introduction About AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET

    AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET is a combination of Aspirin and Ticagrelor which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiplatelet agents. It is used to manage blood clot formation in the body following an heart attack or stroke.

    It is usually prescribed to manage the recurrence of heart attack, stroke or any other circulatory disorders caused due to blood clots in patients who have undergone any heart surgeries (Ex. cardiac stent or bypass surgery) or have heart problems and/or problems in blood circulation.

    Before taking AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have asthma, hay fever, high blood pressure, dehydration, heavy menstrual periods or if you are scheduled for any surgery (including minor dental surgeries) in the upcoming days as a precaution.

    AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with ulcers or bleeding from the stomach or intestines. Do not take AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding women.

    AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET may make you bleed more easily even after minor cuts or injuries, and so be cautions while you perform even minor activities that involves such risks (like shaving, playing, or handling sharp objects).

    The most common side effects of taking AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET are indigestion, joint pain, nausea, stomach pain, constipation, nose bleeds, bleeding gums, headache and dizziness. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.

    Uses Of AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET

    • Prevents the risk of blood clot formation in the body
    • Prevents heart attack, stroke, angina or blockage of blood vessels
    • Prevents the recurrence of heart complications in patients who have undergone stent implantation or any procedures to unclog blocked blood vessels supplying the heart (such as PCI)

    How AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET Works

    AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET is an antiplatelet medication. It manages the clumping of platelets (a type of blood cells that causes blood clot) within the blood vessels. This reduces the risk of clot formation within the blood vessels and improves blood flow to all parts of body.

    How to use AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET

    Take AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It can be taken with or without meals.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET without consulting your doctor.

    Side Effects Of AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET

    Common

    • indigestion, diarrhea
    • increased tendency of bleeding or bruising (including from minor cuts)
    • joint pain
    • headache, dizziness with spinning sensation
    • nausea, constipation
    • skin rash or itching
    • low blood pressure (causing dizziness and blurred vision)
    • nosebleeds, bleeding gums

    Uncommon

    • runny nose
    • breathing difficulty
    • confusion
    • vision problems
    • heavy menstrual periods
    • bleeding from the ears

    Rare

    • inflammation of the stomach lining
    • vomiting
    • cramps in the lower respiratory tract
    • inflammation in the blood vessels
    • low blood platelet count

    Stop taking AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you notice any of the following side effects:

    • severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, throat, tongue causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
    • severe allergic skin reactions (such as skin rash, itching, skin redness with blisters or peeling of the skin, swelling in the mouth, which may be associated with high fever and joint pains)
    • unusual or prolonged bleeding tendency (such as coughing up blood, blood in urine, or black or blood-stained stools, bleeding in the stomach or bowels, unusual bleeding or bruising under the skin, nasal bleeds, bleeding in the eye, bleeding inside the head, bleeding in the lung or joints)
    • excessive bleeding from small cuts or injuries
    • signs of stroke (such as sudden numbness or weakness of the arm, leg or face, especially on one side of the body, confusion, difficulty in speaking or understanding others, difficulty in walking, loss of balance, sudden dizziness, severe headache
    • bleeding under the skin causing red-purplish spots on the skin, with or without tiredness or jaundice
    • severe shortness of breath or asthma attacks

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Dizziness Or Drowsiness

    Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.

    Headache

    Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Take AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.

    Warning & Precautions

    Pregnancy

    Contraindicated

    AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women (especially during the last 3 months of pregnancy) as it may harm the unborn baby. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Breastfeeding

    Monitoring required

    AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless advised by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.  

    Driving and Using Machines

    Others

    AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • currently have or ever had any ulcers in the stomach or intestines
    • currently have or ever had any signs of bleeding in the gut (such as blood vomits or bloody stools)
    • have bleeding in the brain
    • have gout (joint pain)
    • ever had stroke or mini stroke

    Before taking AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET inform your doctor if you:

    • have allergic rhinitis (hay fever causing repeated sneezing, watery eyes, itching of the eyes/nose and runny nose)
    • have nasal polyps (a non-cancerous growth in the nose)
    • have high blood pressure
    • are severely dehydrated
    • have G6PD deficiency
    • have or previously had any problems in the stomach or intestines
    • have heavy menstrual periods
    • must undergo any surgery/operation in the upcoming days (including minor dental surgery)
    • recently had any surgery or serious injury
    • have blood clotting disorders

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before taking AXCER A COPACK 90MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

    • heparin, warfarin (medicines used for blood thinning)
    • medicines used to manage depression (such as isocarboxazid, phenelzine, selegiline, fluoxetine, moclobemide, sertraline, nefazodone, paroxetine, sertraline and citalopram)
    • methotrexate (a medicine used to manage cancer or rheumatoid arthritis)
    • medicine used to suppress immune system and to manage graft rejection (such as ciclosporin or tacrolimus)
    • oral contraceptives (birth control pills) Ex. mifepristone, drospirenone, ethinyl estradiol
    • medicines used to manage abnormal heart rhythm (such as digoxin, quinidine, diltiazem)
    • medicines used to manage fever or pain (such as ibuprofen, metamizole, naproxen)
    • corticosteroids (medicines used to manage pain and inflammation) such as prednisolone
    • medicines used to manage epilepsy (such as phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital and sodium valproate)
    • medicines used to manage diabetes (such as glibenclamide, glipizide or insulin)
    • medicines used to manage hypertension (such as ramipril, captopril, atenolol, propranolol, verapamil)
    • diuretics (used to reduce edema by increasing urine output) such as spironolactone and acetazolamide
    • medicines used to manage gout (such as probenecid and sulfinpyrazone)
    • acetazolamide (a medicine used to manage glaucoma)
    • medicines used to manage bacterial infections (such as clarithromycin, co-trimoxazole)
    • medicines used to manage fungal infections (Ex. ketoconazole)
    • medicines used to manage HIV infections (Ex. ritonavir, atazanavir)
    • medicines used to manage high blood cholesterol levels (such as rosuvastatin, simvastatin or lovastatin)
    • rifampicin (a medicine used to manage Tuberculosis)
    • opioid medicines (used for pain relief) such as morphine, pethidine, fentanyl
    • cisapride (a medicine used to manage heartburn)
    • ergot alkaloids (used to manage migraine headaches)
    • fibrinolytics (used for dissolving blood clots in the body) such as streptokinase or alteplase

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took excessive amount of this medicine, consult your doctor or visit the nearby hospital immediately. Symptoms of overdose might include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, ringing in the ears, vertigo, problems in hearing, headache, dizziness, confusion, sweating, flushing of arms, legs or hands with racing pulse, rapid and deep breathing and increased breathing rate.
