    Introduction About AMFY GEL(TOPICAL)

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) contains Amphotericin B which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-fungal agents. AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) is used to manage acute, chronic & recurrent fungal infections, vaginal candidiasis, diaper rash, and bed sores in affected individuals.

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) is also used in dressing after wound debridement and burns which is also applied around tube and catheters during intubation in intensive care unit.

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Amphotericin B. Before applying AMFY GEL(TOPICAL), inform your doctor if you have kidney problems (such as renal impairment).

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. The medicine is also advised to be used with caution in children & adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.

    The most common side-effects of applying AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) are ulceration and induration (thickened and hardened skin), scarring, and/or swelling at the applied site. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

    Uses Of AMFY GEL(TOPICAL)

    • Manage acute, chronic & recurrent fungal infections, vaginal candidiasis, diaper rash, and bed sores in affected individuals
    • Applied in dressing after wound debridement and burns

    How AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) Works

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) binds to ergosterol (steroid present on the cell membranes of fungi) which leads to the formation of pores and ion leakage on the cell membrane resulting in fungal cell death thus managing invasive fungal infections in affected individuals.

    How to use AMFY GEL(TOPICAL)

    Always apply AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) as directed by your physician. Clean and dry the affected area before application of AMFY GEL(TOPICAL). It is for external use only. A thin layer of medicine has to be applied on the affected area. Managed areas need not be covered with a plaster/bandage. Wash hands before and after the application AMFY GEL(TOPICAL). Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids, nose, and mouth.

    Pregnancy

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before using applying the medicine.

    Breastfeeding

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it is not known whether the medicine pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before applying AMFY GEL(TOPICAL).

    Kidney

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems such as renal impairment. Consult your doctor before applying AMFY GEL(TOPICAL).

    Allergy

    Do not apply AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) if you are allergic to Amphotericin B, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Others

    Use in Pediatrics:

    AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) is safe to use in children and adolescents (below 18 years). Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else applied too much of AMFY GEL(TOPICAL) or accidentally swallowed the medicine, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage the overdose symptoms.
