INTRODUCTION

ALLYNEX 500MG contains Hydroxy progesterone which belongs to the group of medicines called progestins. It is a hormone medicine used to lower the risk of preterm birth in women with a singleton pregnancy who had a preterm delivery in the past. Hydroxyprogesterone is a synthetic steroid hormone, which reduces the chances of preterm labour and helps to sustain a healthy pregnancy. It is not intended to stop an active preterm labor in pregnant women. It is not used in pregnant women with multiple gestations or in women with any other risk factors for preterm birth. This medicine should never be self-administered and must be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse as an intramuscular injection.

Your doctor will regularly monitor your blood sugar levels, if you have diabetes or pre-diabetes to avoid the risks of decrease in glucose tolerance. The most common side effects of this medicine are injection site pain, swelling or itching, nausea, skin rash and diarrhea. Contact your doctor if any of these symptom bothers you. ALLYNEX 500MG is also not recommended for use in pregnant women with uncontrollable high blood pressure and in women with liver or kidney problems. This medicine is not intended for use in children and adolescents under 16 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking.

HOW ALLYNEX 500MG WORKS

ALLYNEX 500MG reduces the risk of premature labour in pregnant women by exerting an anti-inflammatory effect on the CNS, which profoundly blunts the proinflammatory state that occurs with initiation of labor and stabilizes pregnancy.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
