Introduction About ALBALON EYE DROPS
ALBALON EYE DROPS contains Ketotifen which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines. It is used for temporary management of itchy eyes due to allergic conjunctivitis. Conjunctivitis is an inflammation or infection of the transparent membrane (conjunctiva) that lines the eyelid and covers the white part of eyeball. Symptoms include redness, itchiness, or discharge in eyes that forms a crust during the night.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while using ALBALON EYE DROPS. Before using ALBALON EYE DROPS inform your doctor if you are wearing contact lens. It should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. The safety data of ALBALON EYE DROPS in children under 3 years of age has not been established yet. The most common side effects are irritation, pain, or inflammation in the eye. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve.

How ALBALON EYE DROPS Works
ALBALON EYE DROPS works by blocking histamine (a substance in the body that causes allergic symptoms) and stops the release of mediators from cells involved in hypersensitivity reaction.
How to use ALBALON EYE DROPS
Use ALBALON EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. While using it, tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid. Make sure you wash your hands and do not touch any surface while using it.
Close your eyes and press a finger against the corner of the eye for around 1-2 minutes to manage leakage. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using the medicine and wait at least 15 minutes before putting them back. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Side Effects Of ALBALON EYE DROPS
Common
- eye irritation or pain
- inflammation in the eye
Uncommon
- blurred vision when putting drops on the eye
- dry eye
- eyelid disorder
- conjunctivitis
- increased sensitivity of the eyes to light
- visible bleeding in white of eye
- headache
- drowsiness
- rash (which may also itch), eczema (itchy, red, burning rash)
- dry mouth
- allergic reaction (including swelling of the face and eyelids) and increase in severity of existing allergic conditions such as asthma and eczema
Rare
Stop using ALBALON EYE DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic symptoms (rashes, itchiness, difficulty with breathing, swelling around the face and throat, eye pain/discomfort, vision changes or redness of the eye)

Pregnancy
ALBALON EYE DROPS should be used with caution in pregnant women or women planning to have a baby. Consult your doctor before using it.
Breastfeeding
ALBALON EYE DROPS should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before using.
Driving and Using Machines
Do not drive or use machines as ALBALON EYE DROPS may cause blurred vision or drowsiness.
Alcohol
Do not drink alcohol while using ALBALON EYE DROPS as it may increase the effect of alcohol.
Allergy
Do not use ALBALON EYE DROPS if you are allergic to Ketotifen or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Others
Before using ALBALON EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you:
- are wearing soft contact lenses as it may change the colour of the lens

The safety data of ALBALON EYE DROPS in children aged from birth to 3 years have not been established yet. Consult your doctor before using.
Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before using ALBALON EYE DROPS, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- medicines to manage depression, anxiety (Ex. fluvoxamine, citalopram)
- medicines to manage sleep disorder (Ex. emazepam, triazolam)
- medicines to manage allergy (Ex. antihistamines)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of ALBALON EYE DROPS consult your doctor or visit a nearby hospital.
