It is used to treat and manage:
ACTIVE D CAPSULE acts on cells in the gastrointestinal tract to increase the production of calcium transport proteins (calbindin-D proteins), which results in increased uptake of calcium from the gut into the body. Calcitriol has a direct inhibiting effect on parathyroid hormone synthesis. It inhibits parathyroid hormone activity by decreasing parathyroid hormone synthesis and release. It promotes absorption of dietary calcium from the gastrointestinal tract, increases renal tubular reabsorption of calcium, thus reducing the loss of calcium in the urine, stimulates release of calcium from bone. For this it acts on the specific type of bone cells referred to as osteoblasts. This helps to form healthy bones and reduce bone damage.
Take ACTIVE D CAPSULE as directed by your physician. Swallow whole medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew. Your doctor will decide the duration depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
