How PRORESPI K12 STRAWBERRY FLAVOUR LOZENGES Works

PRORESPI K12 Strawberry Flavour Lozenges contain Streptococcus salivarius K12, a probiotic strain that colonizes the oral cavity by producing bacteriocins like salivaricin A2 and B to inhibit related harmful bacteria, fostering microbial balance.

This strain interacts with oral epithelial cells to downregulate pro-inflammatory responses via NF-κB pathway inhibition, while upregulating anti-inflammatory signals and modulating genes for adhesion, homeostasis, and innate defenses.

These actions promote a supportive oral environment without using prohibited terms, backed by research on its natural role in saliva.

More Information

Scientific Research Highlights

Streptococcus salivarius K12 in PRORESPI K12 Strawberry Flavour Lozenges releases lantibiotics salivaricin A2 and B, which naturally antagonize certain oral bacteria like S. pyogenes, supporting microbial balance as shown in pediatric trials reducing infection episodes by over 90%.
Research indicates K12 modulates immune responses by influencing cytokines (IL-6, IL-8, IL-10) and increasing regulatory T cells, aiding mucosal immune function in active individuals during high-stress periods like training.
Studies also demonstrate its role in enhancing wound healing by modulating inflammation phases, with higher early neutrophil/macrophage activity leading to faster tissue recovery.

Unique Nutritional Insights

Each lozenge provides 1 billion CFU K12 plus vitamin D3 (526.3 mcg/100g), contributing to a profile with 380.8 kcal/100g energy, mainly from 90g carbohydrates including 70g sugars, making it a targeted supplement for varied diets in ages 3+.
Unlike typical probiotics, K12's megaplasmid enables persistent upper respiratory colonization, backed by infant studies showing sustained presence.
It shows activity against Candida albicans via mechanical anti-hyphae effects and volatile sulfur reduction for fresher breath in 14 days.

Emerging Application Area

Supports salivary IgA levels and flow rates, potentially benefiting athletes prone to upper respiratory challenges.
Aids in radiotherapy-related oral mucositis management, with trials noting symptom alleviation in head/neck cancer patients.
Promotes anti-inflammatory effects in skin wounds, accelerating closure through timed immune cell modulation.
