Introduction About ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP

ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP is a combination of Cefixime and Clavulanic acid, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, sinus, respiratory tract (bronchus, lungs), biliary tract, urinary tract, and genital tract in children (aged between 6 months to 12 years). It can also be used in the management of typhoid fever.

A bacterial infection can be defined as a proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria within the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body, including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, reproductive tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue, or bones.

Therapy with ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP should be continued for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor, even if your child feels better during the midway of the therapy. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

Prior to the therapy, inform your doctor about the child’s pre-existing disease conditions, such as any stomach problems or kidney problems, as a precaution. The most common side effects of taking ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, and bloating. Consult your doctor immediately if any of these side effects worsen in your child.

Uses Of ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP

It is used in children (aged between 6 months to 12 years) to manage bacterial infections such as:

    • Ear infections (Ex. otitis media)
    • Sinus infections (such as sinusitis)
    • Throat infections (such as tonsillitis and pharyngitis)
    • Respiratory tract infections (such as bronchitis and pneumonia)
    • Urinary tract infections (such as cystitis and kidney infections)
    • Stomach and biliary tract infections (such as cholecystitis)
    • Typhoid fever

How ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP Works

ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP is a powerful antibiotic. It contains two medicines, namely, cefixime and clavulanic acid. Cefixime kills susceptible bacteria by blocking bacterial cell wall synthesis.

Clavulanic acid stops the bacteria from producing toxic proteins (such as beta-lactamases) that can reduce the effects of antibiotics. Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria and manage their further growth and multiplication, which in turn reduces the severity of the infection.

How to use ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP

Administer ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP to your child as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.

Shake the bottle well to loosen the dry powder. Add the sterile water provided with this pack up to the ring mark present on the bottle's surface. Add extra water if required to adjust the volume up to the ring mark. Close the bottle tightly and shake the mixture well.

The quantity (ml) that is required to be administered to your child will be decided by your doctor. Do not stop therapy with ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP once the symptoms subside in your child. It is important to consume ZIFI CV DRY SYRUP for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor to achieve control over the infection.
