Introduction About VALERA M 500 TABLET

VALERA M 500 TABLET contains Evogliptin and Metformin which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-diabetic agents. It is used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. Evogliptin is a Glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) is secreted from alimentary canal in response to meal that promotes insulin secretion from pancreas and regulates blood sugar post meal by controlling glucagon secretion. It exhibits a hypoglycemic effect by controlling the decomposition of GLP-1 by inhibiting dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) activity and thereby increasing blood concentration of active form GLP-1. Metformin makes the body more sensitive to insulin (a hormone involved in glucose metabolism). This helps our body cells to utilize more amount of the circulating blood glucose, thereby reducing blood sugar levels. Additionally, it also manages glucose production by the liver and reduces its absoprtion in the body.

Along with the therapy, your doctor might ask you to make certain lifestyle changes such as following a healthy diet, regular physical exercise and quitting alcohol consumption. Before taking VALERA M 500 TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, and heart problems. VALERA M 500 TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
