    Introduction About TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is a combination of Amlodipine, Chlorthalidone and Olmesartan which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensive agents. It is used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure). It can also be used to manage heart failure or stroke and can protect the function of kidneys particularly in patients who have both hypertension and type II diabetes mellitus.

    It can also reduce the chances of fluid retention (edema) in the body that occurs due to some kidney or liver diseases. Take this medicine preferably in the mornings with food. While taking TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET, do not drink alcohol/grapefruit juice or go for a low-salt diet, as they may make further reduce your blood pressure. Consult your doctor for the best diet that can suit your health condition.

    Before taking TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, high blood cholesterol levels, dehydration, or very low blood sodium, potassium or magnesium levels as a precaution.

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with other severe heart problems such as narrowing of heart valves or cardiogenic shock. It is also not suitable for use in patients with severe hypotension (low blood pressure).

    Do not take TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET if you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET relaxes the blood vessels supplying various organs (such as heart, kidney, brain or others) which allows the blood to flow more smoothly across the blood vessels. It also removes the excess fluids and electrolytes (sodium and water) from the body in the form of urine which helps in reducing edema and blood thickness. Collectively, these actions improve blood flow, reduces the strain on the heart and helps the heart to pump more blood with less pressure.

    How to use TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET

    Always take TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is preferably taken during the mornings with food.

    • severe skin reactions (such as skin rash with itching and redness, blistering and peeling of skin, skin swelling and inflammation of mucous membrane)
    • chest pain, shortness of breath (signs of heart attack)
    • inflammation of pancreas (causing severe stomach pain that radiates to the back side of the body)

    Nausea and vomiting:

    Take TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.

    Dizziness:

    Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.

    Headache:  

    Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.

    Constipation:

    Eat plenty of fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals. Drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if this side effect bothers you.

    Pregnancy

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it may cause serious harm to the growing foetus. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Breastfeeding

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk and harm the nursing infant. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or handle any heavy tools or machines if you experience dizziness or drowsiness after taking TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET.

    Alcohol

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET as it might make you feel dizzier and drowsier.

    Kidney

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney problems (such as kidney stones, renal artery stenosis, dialysis). It should be used with caution in patients with other kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Liver

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver problems. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate liver diseases. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Allergy

    Do not take TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET if you are allergic to Amlodipine, Chlorthalidone or Olmesartan.

    Heart Disease

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart problems such as heart failure, aortic stenosis (narrowing of arteries) or cardiogenic shock (inability of heart to pump blood). It should be used with caution in patients having a history of recent heart, heart failure, irregular heartbeat, coronary heart disease or problems related with heart muscle or valves). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Others

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • have diabetes related kidney problems
    • have abnormally very low blood pressure
    • are not passing urine at all
    • have low blood potassium levels (hypokalemia)
    • have low blood sodium levels (signs include tiredness, confusion, muscle twitching, fits or lack of consciousness)
    • high blood calcium levels
    • have gout
    • have Addison’s disease (a problem in adrenal gland)

    Before taking TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:

    • severe uncontrollable increase in blood pressure (hypertensive crisis)
    • have diabetes
    • have high blood cholesterol levels
    • have high blood potassium levels
    • are undergoing any surgery (including dental surgery)
    • are severely dehydrated (due to diarrhea, vomiting or excess sweating)
    • are on a low-salt diet
    • have primary hyperaldosteronism (problems in adrenal gland)
    • are undergoing any major surgery

    Use in pediatrics:

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children aged below 6 years. It should be used in children and adolescents (aged between 6-17 years) only if prescribed by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before administration.

    Use in geriatrics:

    TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before taking it.

    • other medicines used to reduce elevated blood pressure and other heart problems (Ex. atenolol, propranolol, enalapril, lisinopril, amlodipine, nifedipine, diltiazem, verapamil, methyldopa, guanethidine)
    • ketoconazole, itraconazole (used to manage fungal infections)
    • ritonavir, indinavir, nelfinavir (used in management of HIV infections)
    • rifampicin, erythromycin, clarithromycin (used to manage bacterial infections)
    • dantrolene (a medicine used to manage muscle spasms)
    • medicines used to control elevated cholesterol levels (Ex. simvastatin, cholestyramine, colesevelam)
    • potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics such as spironolactone, triamterene or amiloride (used to retain or increase potassium levels in the body)
    • antacids (medicines used to neutralize stomach acid) Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magaldrate
    • medicines used to manage graft rejection and to suppress immune functions (such as tacrolimus, sirolimus, temsirolimus, everlimus, cyclosporine)
    • St. John’s wort (an herbal medicine used to manage depression)
    • corticosteroids (used to manage pain and inflammation) Ex. prednisolone, betamethasone
    • corticotropin (a medicine used to correct hormone problems)
    • medicines used for cancer (Ex. cyclophosphamide, methotrexate)
    • medicines used to manage asthma (such as salbutamol, formoterol)
    • amphotericin B (a medicine used to manage fungal infections)
    • carbenoxolone (a medicine used to manage mouth ulcers)
    • anticholinergics (used to manage stomach muscle spasms) such as atropine, hyoscine
    • lithium (a medicine used to manage various mental health problems)
    • digoxin (a medicine used to manage irregular heartbeat)
    • allopurinol (a medicine used to manage gout)
    • amantadine (a medicine used for parkinsonism or viral infections)
    • non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (used for pain relief) such as indomethacin, celecoxib, ibuprofen, aspirin

    Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET, as it could further decrease your blood pressure.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took more TRIOLMESAR CH 40MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage might include dizziness, fainting, light-headedness, weakness, shock, cool or clampy skin, and shortness of breath.
