Introduction About TRABEC 1MG INJECTION
TRABEC 1MG INJECTION is a combination of Trabectedin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Anticancer medicines. It is used for the management of advanced soft tissue sarcoma when previous medicines have been unsuccessful, or the patients are unsuited to receiving them.
It is also used in combination with pegylated liposomal doxorubicin (another anti-cancer medicine) for the management of patients with ovarian cancer that has come back after at least 1 previous therapy and are not resistant to anti-cancer medicines containing platinum compounds.
TRABEC 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you have severe liver, kidney, or heart disease. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease, liver disease, heart problems, or history of heart problems, Left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) under the lower limit of normal.
TRABEC 1MG INJECTION should not be used during pregnancy or in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice. TRABEC 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of age with pediatric sarcomas. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
The most common side effects of receiving TRABEC 1MG INJECTION are tiredness, difficulty breathing and coughing, pain in your back, excess of fluid in the body (oedema), bruises more easily, nose bleeds, increased risk of infections, fever, loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea or constipation, and headache. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

TRABEC 1MG INJECTION works by inhibiting the tumor cells from multiplying.
How to use TRABEC 1MG INJECTION
TRABEC 1MG INJECTION will be administered only by a doctor or a nurse into the veins as an intravenous infusion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight, and disease condition.
Side Effects Of TRABEC 1MG INJECTION
Common
- tiredness
- difficulty breathing and coughing
- pain in your back
- excess of fluid in the body (oedema)
- bruise more easily
- nose bleeds
- increased risk of infections, fever
- loss of appetite, nausea or vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, or constipation
- headache
- signs of hand and foot syndrome such as red skin of the palms, fingers, and soles of the feet that later may become swollen and violaceous.
- loss of water from the body, weight loss, digestive discomfort, and a change in your sense of taste
- loss of hair (alopecia)
- dizziness, low blood pressure and flushing or skin rash
- higher skin pigmentation
- pain in joints
- sleeping problems
Rare
Stop receiving TRABEC 1MG INJECTION and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- sign of a condition (capillary leak syndrome) such as unexplained partial or general swelling (oedema), with possible lightheadedness, dizziness or thirst (low blood pressure)
- signs of increased levels of the yellow pigment bilirubin in the blood which might cause jaundice (a yellowing of the skin, mucous membranes and eyes)
- blood infections (sepsis) due to decreased immunity
- fever
- pain in your muscles (myalgia), weakness, and numbness due to damage to your nerves and general swelling or swelling of the limbs and a sensation of creeping on the skin
- reaction at the site of injection due to leakage of medicine out of your vein, leading to damage and death of your tissue cells around the injection site (tissue necrosis) which may require surgery
- signs of allergic reaction include fever, difficulty in breathing, redness or flushing of the skin or a rash, feeling, nausea or vomiting
How To Manage Side Effects
Constipation
Try to eat more high-fiber foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables, and cereals, and drink plenty of water. If this does not help, consult your doctor about receiving alternate management for constipation.
Diarrhea
Drink lots of fluids, such as water, to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid eating high-fat or spicy foods. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhea and consult your doctor if the diarrhea gets worse.
Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
Headache
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids, such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm to your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Nausea And Vomiting
Take TRABEC 1MG INJECTION with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.
Skin rash Or Itching
Avoid hot baths because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing while going outside. Use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if your rashes worsen.
Stomach Pain
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to eat smaller meals more frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Consult your doctor if the stomach pain does not improve.
Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
ContraindicatedTRABEC 1MG INJECTION should not be used during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine.
Adequate contraceptive precautions must be used by women of childbearing potential when receiving TRABEC 1MG INJECTION and for 3 months following the end of treatment.
Breastfeeding
ContraindicatedTRABEC 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice.
Driving and Using Machines
Use with CautionDo not drive or operate any machinery if you feel tired and experience loss of strength.
Alcohol
Consult your doctorAvoid consumption of alcohol during management with TRABEC 1MG INJECTION as it may harm the liver.
Kidney
ContraindicatedTRABEC 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you have severe kidney disease. Inform your doctor if you have any kidney disease.
Liver
ContraindicatedTRABEC 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you have severe liver disease. Inform your doctor if you have any liver disease.
Allergy

Heart Disease

Use In Pediatrics

Others
TRABEC 1MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you:
- have any serious infection

- have received high anthracycline dose treatment in the past

Inform your physician if you are taking any of the following drugs before using TRABEC 1MG INJECTION:
- Yellow fever vaccine, live vaccines
- Antiepileptics (Ex. phenytoin, phenobarbital)
- Antibacterials (Ex. rifampicin, clarithromycin)
- Antidepressants (Ex. St. John’s Wort (hypericum perforatum))
- Antifungals (Ex. ketoconazole or fluconazole)
- Antiviral (Ex. ritonavir)
- Antiemetics (Ex. aprepitant)
- Immunosuppressive agents (Ex. ciclosporin)
- Cardiovascular agents (Ex. verapamil)
- Statins (Ex. atorvastatin)
