Introduction About TINFAL PLUS TABLET
TINFAL PLUS TABLET is used in the management of a type of hair loss called male pattern baldness in adult men. It contains a combination of biotin and finasteride which nourishes and strengthens your hair and reduces the production of certain hormones that causes baldness.
Take TINFAL PLUS TABLET under medical supervision. It can be taken with or without meals. Do not use this medicine for a prolonged period without consulting your doctor.
Before taking TINFAL PLUS TABLET inform your doctor if you are already taking finasteride or other similar medicines (Ex. dutasteride) to manage benign prostatic hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). It is not suitable for use in women and in children aged below 18 years.
The most common side effects of taking TINFAL PLUS TABLET are decrease in libido or problems in erection or semen release. These side effects are usually temporary and gets reversed once the therapy is discontinued. However, contact your doctor if they trouble you.

How TINFAL PLUS TABLET Works
TINFAL PLUS TABLET contains two medicines namely, biotin and finasteride. Biotin is a B-vitamin (B7) which is a water-soluble vitamin required by the body for a healthy hair, skin and nails. It works by optimising the metabolism of fatty acids, glucose, and amino acids, gene regulation and cell signaling.
Finasteride is a 5-Alpha reductase inhibitor. It works by blocking the release of certain hormones within the body (dihydrotestosterone) that causes hair loss. Together, they help in reducing hair loss.
How to use TINFAL PLUS TABLET
Take TINFAL PLUS TABLET under medical supervision. It can be taken with or without meals. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy based on your health condition. Do not use this medicine for a prolonged period without consulting your doctor.
Side Effects Of TINFAL PLUS TABLET
Common
- impotence, decreased libido
- difficulty having an erection, problems with ejaculation
Stop taking TINFAL PLUS TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience:
- mood alterations, depressed mood, or suicidal thoughts
- signs of allergic reactions (such as swelling of your lips, face, tongue and throat, difficulty in swallowing, lumps under your skin (hives) and breathing difficulties)
- signs of breast cancer (such as breast pain, lumps, pain, enlargement or nipple discharge)

Pregnancy
ContraindicatedTINFAL PLUS TABLET is not suitable for use in women. Pregnant women must not come in contact with broken pieces of this medicine even accidentally, as even topical absorption of finasteride may lead to side effects in growing baby.
Breastfeeding
ContraindicatedTINFAL PLUS TABLET is not suitable for use in women. It should not be used in breastfeeding women.
Driving and Using Machines
Use with CautionDo not drive or handle heavy machinery if you experience any side effects after taking TINFAL PLUS TABLET.
Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not take TINFAL PLUS TABLET if you are allergic to biotin or finasteride.
Use In Pediatrics
ContraindicatedTINFAL PLUS TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
Use In Geriatrics
Use with CautionTINFAL PLUS TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 75 years or above). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
Others
TINFAL PLUS TABLET is not recommended for use if you:
- are a woman (as finasteride does not help women with hair loss)
- have benign prostatic hyperplasia and taking medicines for the same
Before taking TINFAL PLUS TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- are scheduled for a blood test on PSA (prostate specific antigen)
