Introduction About SUPPOL BABY 80MG SUPPOSITORY
Suppol Baby 80 Suppository is a painkiller and anti-pyretic medicine. It is used in babies to symptomatically relieve pain and fever (high body temperature) in conditions such as neonatal hyperthermia, high grade fever, neonatal sepsis, post operative pain, febrile convulsion and following immunization vaccines. It contains paracetamol as an active ingredient to reduce fever and pain. It is ideal when oral administration is inconvenient or not possible to take.
Paracetamol relieves pain by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting certain enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2) involved in synthesis of chemicals responsible for inducing pain (prostaglandins). It reduces fever by directly acting on heat-regulating centers in the brain, resulting in vessel relaxation, sweating and loss of body heat.
Always use Suppol Baby 80 Suppository for your baby as advised by your child’s doctor. It is for rectal route only. For administration, place the baby in sleeping position, hold the legs with hands and gently push the suppository in to the rectum. Do not administer more than the recommended dosage as it may cause injury to the liver.
