Introduction About STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION
STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION contains Flucloxacillin that belongs to the group of medicines called the Antibiotics. It is used to manage wide range of bacterial infections in the chest (pneumonia, emphysema, lung abscess), tonsils (tonsillitis, quinsy), throat (pharyngitis), sinuses (sinusitis), ears (otitis media, otitis externa), skin & soft tissues (boils, abscesses, carbuncles, impetigo, cellulites, furunculosis, ulcers, acne), wounds, burns, heart (endocarditis), bones & joints (osteomyelitis), membranes of the brain (meningitis), gut (enteritis), blood (septicaemia), kidney, bladder, or the urethra.
STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION is also used to manage infections occurring after skin grafting or during major surgeries, especially heart or orthopaedic surgery.
A bacterial infection occurs when the bacteria invade the body's defences, increase in number, and cause abnormal reactions in the body such as fever, lymph node swelling, inflammation of the skin, pain (in the heart, muscles, bones, and joints), generalised weakness, cough, soreness, and a burning sensation while urinating. The bacterial infection can become fatal if it spreads widely in the blood.
STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to flucloxacillin, cephalosporins, or other antibiotics. STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION is also not recommended for use if you have a history of liver diseases such as jaundice after taking flucloxacillin.
STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION should be used with caution in patients who are being managed for liver problems, kidney problems such as severe kidney failure, or heart problems. STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION should be used with caution by pregnant and breastfeeding women. STAPHONEX 1GM INJECTION should be used with caution in children and adolescents (below 14 years) and elderly patients (aged 50 years or above). Consult your doctor before taking it.
