    Introduction About RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET contains Semaglutide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetics. It is used in adults in the management of type 2 diabetes when diet and exercise is not enough to control blood sugar levels.         

    Type 2 diabetes is a condition in which your body fails to make enough insulin and the insulin that your body produces does not work as well as it is expected to. Symptoms include increased thirst, urination and hunger, fatigue, blurry vision, numbness in hands.

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you have type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis, medullary thyroid carcinoma and Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with fast heart rate, kidney disease, acute pancreatitis. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age. It should be used with caution in elderly patients. Contact your doctor before taking it.

    The most common side effects of taking RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET are nausea, diarrhea and low blood sugar (cold sweat, cool pale skin, headache, fast heartbeat, nausea or very hungry, changes in vision). Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

    How RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET Works

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET belongs to a class of medicines called GLP-1 receptor agonists (glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists) which helps the body to make more insulin when your blood sugar is high.

    How to use RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET

    Take RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It should be taken on an empty stomach. Swallow the medicines with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

    After taking RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET wait at least 30 minutes before having your first meal or drink of the day or taking other oral medicines. Your physician will fix the correct dose and frequency for you based upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop using this medicine without telling your doctor. Otherwise, your blood sugar levels may raise.

    Side Effects Of RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET

    Serious

    Stop taking RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET and consult with your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following symptoms:

    • sign of inflamed pancreas (acute pancreatitis) such as severe pain in the stomach and back
    • signs of diabetic eye disease (retinopathy) such as changes in vision
    • serious allergic reactions such as symptoms such as swelling of face and throat, wheezing, breathing problems, fast heartbeat, pale and cold skin, feeling dizzy or weak

    Common

    • nausea, diarrhoea, vomiting, upset stomach, indigestion, stomach pain
    • bloating, constipation, gas
    • loss of appetite
    • tiredness
    • low blood sugar (cold sweat, cool pale skin, headache, fast heartbeat, nausea, very hungry, changes in vision, sleepiness or weakness, nervous, anxious or confused, difficulty in concentrating or shaking)
    • inflamed stomach (gastritis)
    • reflux or heartburn

    Uncommon

    • weight loss
    • gallstones
    • burping
    • fast pulse

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Bloating

    Eat smaller and frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly and exercise regularly. If the flatulence does not improve, contact your doctor.

    Constipation

    Take fiber rich foods in your diet such as fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grain cereals and drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly and stay active. Contact your doctor if your constipation persist.

    Diarrhea

    Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juices to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if your diarrhoea did not improve.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Take RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Contact your doctor if your nausea and vomiting did not improve.

    Stomach Pain

    Try to have smaller meals but take frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Do not self-manage and contact your doctor if the stomach pain did not improve.

    Warning & Precautions

    Pregnancy

    Contraindicated

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET is not recommended for use during pregnancy, as it is not known if it affects the unborn baby. Therefore, use of contraception is recommended while taking this medicine. Consult your doctor for advice. If you wish to become pregnant, your doctor will ask you to stop using this medicine at least 2 months in advance. If you become pregnant while using RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET, contact your doctor immediately.

    Breastfeeding

    Contraindicated

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women, as it is unknown if it passes into breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Use with Caution

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET may cause low blood sugar which may reduce your ability to concentrate. Do not drive or operate heavy machines after taking this medicine.

    Kidney

    Use with Caution

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Liver

    Safe

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET can be used safely in patients with liver disease with no dose adjustment. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Allergy

    Contraindicated

    Do not take RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET if you are allergic to Semaglutide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    Use with Caution

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with tachyarrhythmia’s (fast heart rate) and first-degree AV block or second- or third-degree AV block. Consult your doctor before taking it.

    Use In Pediatrics

    Contraindicated

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been established. Contact your doctor before taking it.

    Use In Geriatrics

    Use with Caution

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients aged 65 years and above. Contact your doctor before taking RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET.

    Others

    RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • have type 1 diabetes (body does not produce any insulin)
    • have diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes)
    • or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC)  
    • have Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2

    Before taking RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:

    • have inflamed pancreas (acute pancreatitis)
    • have low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
    • have diabetic eye disease (retinopathy)
    • have gastrointestinal problems like nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or dehydration

    Interactions

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before taking RYBELSUS 3MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • levothyroxine (used for thyroid disease)
    • oral anticoagulants Ex. warfarin (used to manage blood clot)
    • insulin, glimepiride (medicines used to manage diabetes)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately. Symptoms of overdose are nausea.
