Introduction About OTRIVIN MOISTURISING PAEDIATRIC NASAL DROPS
OTRIVIN MOISTURISING PAEDIATRIC Nasal Drops is a Nasal decongestant used in babies) to provide relief from nasal congestion caused due to common cold, sinusitis (inflammation of the sinuses) or allergic rhinitis (an allergic condition)
It contains Xylometazoline and Sorbitol as active ingredients. Xylometazoline works by narrowing down the blood vessels supplying the nasal passage. This helps swollen blood vessels of the nasal tract to return to its normal size which allows the air to pass through the nostrils more freely. It also reduces the excessive nasal secretions and provides temporary relief from nasal inflammation, swelling and discomfort. Sorbitol moisturises the nostrils and soothes nasal irritation.
Gently instil 2-3 drops of OTRIVIN MOISTURISING PAEDIATRIC Nasal Drops in the affected nostrils or as directed by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Do not use OTRIVIN MOISTURISING PAEDIATRIC Nasal Drops for more than 7 days without consulting your doctor.
Before using OTRIVIN MOISTURISING PAEDIATRIC Nasal Drops inform your doctor if your child has any other problems in nasal tract apart from nasal congestion such as chronic nasal inflammation with very dry nasal passages (rhinitis sicca or atrophic rhinitis).
The most common side effects of using OTRIVIN MOISTURISING PAEDIATRIC Nasal Drops are irritation or burning sensation after application and nasal dryness. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
