INTRODUCTION ABOUT ORS(CIPLA) ORANGE LIQUID
ORS Orange Liquid belongs to oral rehydration salts (ORS) which is used to restore body fluids and electrolytes lost due to dehydration. It contains electrolytes like sodium, potassium, chloride, citrate and dextrose as active ingredients which are essential to maintain normal fluid balance in the body.
Dextrose is the primary ingredient of ORS. It facilitates the absorption of sodium and water in the small intestine. Sodium and potassium are needed as replacement of these essential ions during diarrhoea and vomiting. Citrate corrects the excess acid levels that occurs because of diarrhoea.
ORS Orange Liquid is a ready-to-drink product to ensure patient compliance and offer convenience. It should be used with caution in patients with depressed renal function, severe continuing diarrhea, or other critical fluid losses.
