Introduction About OFLOX E/E DROPS
OFLOX E/E DROPS is used in the management of eye and ear bacterial infections such as conjunctivitis, keratoconjunctivitis, otitis media, etc. It contains a medicine called ofloxacin which is an antibacterial agent. It stops bacteria from multiplying by disrupting their ability to create and repair DNA, which is crucial for their growth.
Use OFLOX E/E DROPS exactly as instructed by your physician. Misuse or overuse of this medicine may lead to unwanted side effects. If there is no improvement in your condition even after using this medicine for 7 days, consult your doctor for advice. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying OFLOX E/E DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.

How OFLOX E/E DROPS Works
OFLOX E/E DROPS contains Ofloxacin which works by stopping bacteria from multiplying. It does this by interfering with the bacteria's ability to make and repair their DNA, which is essential for their growth and survival. By blocking the enzymes needed for this process, ofloxacin prevents the bacteria from reproducing, ultimately destroying them and clearing up the infection.
How to use OFLOX E/E DROPS
Use OFLOX E/E DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for topical use only.
For Eyes: Tilt your head slightly backwards and gently pull your lower eyelid. Instil few drops of this medicine into the eyes and close your eyes for 2 minutes. Repeat the same for the other eye if required. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying OFLOX E/E DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
For Ears: Gently instil few drops of this medicine into the ears. Repeat the same for the other ear if required.
Wash your hands before and after application. Do not touch the tip of the container with your eyes, eyelids, areas around your eyes, outer surface of the ears or fingers, to avoid contamination.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition. If there is no improvement in your condition even after using this medicine for 7 days, consult your doctor for advice.
Side Effects Of OFLOX E/E DROPS
Common
- eye irritation or discomfort
Stop using OFLOX E/E DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, throat, tongue causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
- severe eye pain, redness, irritation and vision changes
- severe skin reactions causing skin rashes, with red-target spots or circular patches on the skin, blistering and peeling of skin with fever
How To Manage Side Effects

Eye irritation Or Itching
Wash your eyes with plain cold water. Place an ice pack on your eye to ease the irritation. Avoid straining your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops or television. Wear protective eyeglasses while going outdoors. Close your eyes and relax. Do not strain your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops, or television. Avoid driving or operating any heavy tools or machines while your vision is blur. Consult your doctor if you experience blurred vision for a prolonged period.

A. Drug-Drug interactions:
- Anti-arrhythmic agents (such as quindine, hydroquindine, disopyramide, amiodarone, sotalol, dofetilide, ibutilide)
- Antidepressants (such as amitriptyline, imipramine)
- macrolide antibiotics (used to treat bacterial infections) such as erythromycin, clarithromycin, azithromycin
- Antipsychotics (such as chlorpromazine, haloperidol, thioridazine etc.)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally used excessive amount of this medicine, rinse your eyes or ears with warm water. If still irritation persists, consult your doctor for advice. If you or anyone else accidentally swallowed this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.
