    Introduction About NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION contains Amino acid which are naturally occurring physiological compounds. It is used for management of protein depletion in patients requiring parenteral nutrition when oral or enteral nutrition is not possible, insufficient, or not recommended. NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION can be used to manage negative nitrogen balance in patients.

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION can also be used to manage hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver scarring or inflammation.

    Your doctor might monitor your fluid an electrolyte status and various other functions throughout your management.

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION is not recommended for use in patients with amino acid metabolism problems since birth, pulmonary edema, or excess acid in blood due to low cardiac output. Before receiving NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION, inform your doctor if you have diabetes, kidney, heart, or liver disease.

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be used in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if considered clearly necessary. NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION is not recommended for use in children and should be used with caution in elderly patients, therefore consult your doctor before receiving it.

    The most common side effects of receiving NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION are generalized flushing, fever, nausea, and local injection site reactions. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

    Uses Of NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION

    Prevents and manages,

    • protein depletion in patients requiring parenteral nutrition when oral or enteral nutrition is not possible, insufficient, or not recommended

    Manages,

    • manage negative nitrogen balance
    • manage hepatic encephalopathy in patients with liver scarring or inflammation

    How NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION Works

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION acts as a nutrition supplement by providing the structural units that make up proteins and other biomolecules or are oxidized to urea and carbon dioxide as an energy source.

    How to use NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you according to your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION

    Common

    • generalized flushing
    • fever
    • nausea
    • local injection site reactions

    Rare

    Stop receiving NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of pulmonary distress
    • hypersensitivity reactions (low or high blood pressure, bluish discoloration of extremities, fast heartbeat, breathlessness, vomiting, nausea, hives, rash, itching, redness, excessive sweating, fever, chills)
    • risk of infections and sepsis
    • refeeding syndrome (shift in intracellular potassium, phosphorus, and magnesium levels)
    • high blood sugar levels
    • venous thrombophlebitis (pain, redness, tenderness, palpable veins)
    • hepatobiliary disorders and Parenteral Nutrition Associated Liver Disease as seen in liver test abnormalities
    • aluminum toxicity
    • severely raised electrolyte levels, fluid overload

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea:

    Have ginger or peppermint tea. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If nausea does not improve, contact your doctor.

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be used in pregnant women only if considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    Breastfeeding

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be used in breastfeeding women only if considered clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    Kidney

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION is not recommended for use in patients who are unable to produce urine. NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be used with caution in patients with history of renal disease or renal impairment. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    Liver

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION is not recommended for use in patients with liver diseases such as hepatic coma. NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be taken with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    Allergy

    Do not receive NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION if you are allergic to Amino acid or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION is not recommended for use in patients with lung diseases such as pulmonary edema. NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be used with caution in patients with lung disease. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    Heart Disease

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be used with caution in patients with cardiac insufficiency or severe congestive heart failure. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    Others

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION is not recommended for use if you have:

    • amino acid metabolism problems since birth, due to risk of severe metabolic or neurologic complications
    • acidosis (acid build-up)
    • metabolic disorders with impaired nitrogen utilization
    • azotemia (build-up of nitrogenous products in blood)

    Before receiving NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION, inform your doctor if you have:

    • conditions involving edema with sodium retention
    • high blood potassium levels or potassium retention
    • diabetes or are pre-diabetic

    Use in pediatrics:

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION is not recommended for use in children as safety and efficacy of the medicine has not been studies in them. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    Use in geriatrics:

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Consult your doctor before receiving it.

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before receiving NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • tetracycline (used to manage bacterial infections)

    NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so you are unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms.

    Patients receiving NEPHROSTERIL INFUSION must inform their doctor about their pre-existing conditions like kidney, liver, or heart problems, diabetes, or amino acid metabolism problems since birth. Patients should also inform if they are pregnant, breast-feeding, or having any allergies. Consult your doctor if you experience anything different.
