Introduction About NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET
NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET is used in the management of essential hypertension (high blood pressure). It also controls heart pumping strength and in the management of mild and moderate chronic heart failure (above 70 years of age). It contains Nebivolol which belongs to the group of medicines called Beta blockers.
Along with NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET, your doctor might advise you to make certain lifestyle changes, such as healthy eating, sleep, weight and stress management, quitting smoking and alcohol. Your doctor may ask you to undergo some blood tests before starting the management with the medicine. It is not recommended for use in patients having liver, kidney, lungs, or heart disease, circulation problems, unmanaged pheochromocytoma, or diabetic ketoacidosis.
Before starting the management with NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have diabetes or an overactive thyroid gland. No studies of this medicine were conducted in pregnant women. Use of this medicine during pregnancy only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. It is not recommended for use in nursing mother. Some of the most common side effects are headache, dizziness, fatigue, weakness, and insomnia. Inform your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen.

It is used to manage:
- high blood pressure (hypertension)
- mild and moderate chronic heart failure in addition to standard therapies in elderly patients above 70 years
How NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET Works
NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET works specifically on the heart by slowing down the heart rate and making the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body. This results in a lowering of the blood pressure.
How to use NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET
- Take NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET as advised by your doctor
- Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
- Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight, and disease condition
Side Effects Of NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET
Common Side Effects of NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET:
- dizziness
- tiredness
- diarrhoea, constipation
Stop taking NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe allergic reactions, with generalized skin eruptions (hypersensitive reactions)
- rapid onset of swelling around the lips, eyes, or tongue with sudden difficulties in breathing (angioedema)
- skin rash involving pale red, raised, itchy bumps of allergic or non-allergic causes
- breathlessness, such as in asthma, tightening of the chest, difficulty breathing, or wheezing

Breastfeeding
Consult your doctorIt is not known whether this medicine is excreted in human milk. NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET is not recommended during nursing.

Driving and Using Machines
Use with CautionDo not drive or operate any machines if you experience dizziness or fatigue after taking NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET.

Kidney
Use with CautionNEBIVOL 5MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease or patients who are undergoing dialysis.

Liver
ContraindicatedNEBIVOL 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with liver disease.

Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not take NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET if you are allergic to Nebivolol or to any other ingredients of this medicine.

Lungs
ContraindicatedNEBIVOL 5MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with lung disease such as asthma or wheezing.

Heart Disease
Consult your doctorNEBIVOL 5MG TABLET is not recommended in patients having heart diseases such as low blood pressure, very slow heartbeat, heart rhythm problems, or heart failure. It should be used with caution in patients having Prinz metal angina, unmanaged chronic heart failure, and first-degree heart block.

Use In Pediatrics
Consult your doctorSafety and effectiveness in pediatric patients have not been established. Pediatric studies in ages newborn to 18 years old have not been conducted because of incomplete characterization of developmental toxicity and possible adverse effects on long-term fertility.

Use In Geriatrics
Consult your doctorNo overall differences in efficacy or in the incidence of adverse events were observed between older and younger patients.
Others
It is not recommended for use if you:
- have serious circulation problems in arms or legs
- have unmanaged pheochromocytoma (tumor of the adrenal gland)
- have diabetic ketoacidosis
Before taking NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you:
- have diabetes
- have an overactive thyroid gland
- have planned surgery and require anesthesia
- have lactose intolerance

A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking the medicine, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- Antihypertensive agents (Ex. amiodarone, amlodipine, cibenzoline, clonidine, digoxin, diltiazem, disopyramide, felodipine, flecainide, guanfacin, nicardipine, nimodipine, nitrendipine, propafenone, quinidine, rilmenidine, verapamil, hydroquinidine, lacidipine, lidocaine, methyldopa, mexiletine, moxonidine, nifedipine)
- Sedative-hypnotic agents (Ex. barbiturates, phenothiazine, thioridazine)
- Antidepressants (Ex. amitriptyline, paroxetine, fluoxetine)
- medicines used for anesthesia during operation
- medicines used for asthma, blocked nose, glaucoma, or dilation
- antispasmodic agents (Ex. baclofen)
- H2 blockers (Ex. cimetidine)
- Cytoprotectants (Ex. amifostine)
- Anti-malarial agents (Ex. mefloquine)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of NEBIVOL 5MG TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
