    Introduction About NEBILOCK AM TABLET

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is a combination of Amlodipine and Nebivolol which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensive agents. It is used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure). It can also be used to manage angina and heart failure.

    Take NEBILOCK AM TABLET as advised by your physician. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET, as it could further decrease your blood pressure.

    Before taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems (such as angina). You must also inform your doctor if you have asthma, diabetes, thyroid problems, poor blood circulation or psoriasis as a precaution.

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart problems (such as heart failure or heart block). Consult your doctor before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    The most common side effects of taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET are swelling of ankles or other body parts, headache, dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, racing heartbeat, indigestion, constipation, tingling sensation and muscle cramps. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.

    How NEBILOCK AM TABLET Works

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is an antihypertensive medicine. It relaxes your blood vessels and improves blood flow across them. It also slows down the heart rate and reduces the force of contraction of heart muscles. As a result, it reduces the strain on the heart, improves blood flow across the blood vessels and makes the heart to pump blood more smoothly and efficiently with less pressure.

    How to use NEBILOCK AM TABLET

    Take NEBILOCK AM TABLET as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

    Try to take NEBILOCK AM TABLET at the same time each day. NEBILOCK AM TABLET can be taken with or without food.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition.

    Continue to take NEBILOCK AM TABLET for the stipulated duration instructed by your doctor without any interruption to achieve better results.

    Side Effects Of NEBILOCK AM TABLET

    Common

    • edema (swelling of the ankles or other body parts)
    • headache, dizziness, sleepiness
    • palpitations (fast heartbeat)
    • flushing (redness and warmth of the skin)
    • stomach pain, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, indigestion
    • changes in bowel habit
    • tiredness, weakness
    • visual disturbances, double vision
    • muscle pains
    • tingling sensation or unusual itching in the body
    • shortness of breath

    Uncommon

    • anxiety, depression
    • insomnia (sleeplessness), nightmares
    • changes in taste
    • tingling sensation in limbs, loss of pain sensation

    • low blood pressure, slow heartbeat
    • increased sweating
    • increased urination at night
    • inability to obtain an erection, breast enlargement in men
    • joint pain, back pain

    • confusion

    Stop taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, swelling of the face, lips, mouth or throat which can lead to difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
    • severe skin reactions (such as skin rash with itching and redness, blistering and peeling of skin, skin swelling and inflammation of mucous membrane)
    • chest pain, shortness of breath (signs of heart attack)
    • inflammation of pancreas (causing severe stomach pain that radiates to the back side of the body)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea and vomiting:

    Take NEBILOCK AM TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.

    Dizziness:

    Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.

    Headache:

    Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.

    Constipation:

    Eat plenty of fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables and cereals. Drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if this side effect bothers you.

    Pregnancy

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Breastfeeding

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Driving and Using Machines

    Do not drive or handle any heavy tools or machines if your ability is affected by NEBILOCK AM TABLET.

    Alcohol

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET as it might make you feel dizzier and drowsier.

    Kidney

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Liver

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver impairment. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Allergy

    Do not take NEBILOCK AM TABLET if you are allergic to Amlodipine or Nebivolol.

    Lungs

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with asthma or other breathing problems. It should be used with caution in patients with chronic bronchitis (inflammation of the airways). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Heart Disease

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart problems such as heart failure, slow heartbeat, serious heart rhythm problems, aortic stenosis (narrowing of arteries) or cardiogenic shock (inability of heart to pump blood). It should be used with caution in patients having angina (chest pain) or heart block. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    Others

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use if you:

    • have severe low blood pressure
    • have poor blood circulation in the arms and legs
    • have metabolic acidosis (too much acidity in blood)
    • have unmanageed phaeochromocytoma

    Before taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET inform your doctor if you:

    • have a slow heartbeat with shortness of breath and dizziness
    • have Raynaud’s disease (poor blood circulation to fingers and toes)
    • have leg pain, tension or weakness (intermittent claudication)
    • have diabetes
    • have overactivity of thyroid gland
    • have psoriasis (white scaly patches on the skin)
    • are going to undergo an operation
    • severe uncontrollable increase in blood pressure (hypertensive crisis)

    Use in Pediatrics:

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). Therefore, consult your doctor for advice.

    Use in Geriatrics:

    NEBILOCK AM TABLET should be used with caution in the elderly patients. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:

    • calcium channel blockers (used to manage heart problems) such as verapamil, diltiazem, amlodipine, felodipine, lacidipine, nifedipine, nicardipine, nimodipine and nitrendipine
    • other medicines used to manage high blood pressure (such as clonidine, guanfacine, moxonidine, methyldopa, rilmenidine, aliskiren, captopril, enalapril, ramipril, losartan, valsartan)
    • medicines used to manage uneven heartbeat (such as digoxin, quinidine, hydroquinidine, amiodarone, cibenzoline, ­ecainide, disopyramide, lidocaine, mexiletine and propafenone)
    • medicines used to manage anxiety (such as phenobarbital, chlorpromazine)
    • medicines used to manage depression (such as lithium, amitriptyline, trazodone, paroxetine, fl­uoxetine and thioridiazine)
    • medicines used to manage asthma (such as salbutamol, salmeterol, budesonide)
    • medications used to manage cough and cold (such as pseudoephedrine)
    • medicines used to manage glaucoma (such as timolol, pindolol)
    • medicines used to manage diabetes (such as insulin, metformin, gliclazide, glibenclamide)
    • anaesthetics (used to cause numbness or loss of sensation) such as lidocaine, sevoflurane, halothane
    • cimetidine (a medicine used to manage stomach ulcers)
    • antacids (medicines used to neutralise stomach acid) such as aluminium hydroxide, magaldrate
    • medicines used for pain and inflammation (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, diclofenac)
    • baclofen (a medicine used for relaxing muscles)
    • amifostine (a kidney protectant used along with chemotherapeutic agents)
    • ketoconazole, itraconazole (used to manage fungal infections)
    • ritonavir, indinavir, nelfinavir (used in management of HIV infections)
    • rifampicin, erythromycin, clarithromycin (used to manage bacterial infections)
    • dantrolene (a medicine used to manage muscle spasms)
    • medicines used to control elevated cholesterol levels (Ex. simvastatin)
    • medicines used to manage graft rejection and to suppress immune functions (such as tacrolimus, sirolimus, temsirolimus, everlimus, cyclosporine)
    • St. John’s wort (an herbal medicine used to manage depression)

    B. Drug - Food interaction:

    Avoid drinking grapefruit juice while taking NEBILOCK AM TABLET, as it could abnormally decrease your blood pressure and make you feel drowsy or faint.

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took more NEBILOCK AM TABLET, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage might include dizziness, fainting, light-headedness, low blood pressure, fast or slow heart rate, weakness, shock, cool or clampy skin, shortness of breath and kidney problems.
