    Introduction About LORNIT 500MG TABLET

LORNIT 500MG TABLET contains L-ornithine-L-aspartate, which belongs to the group of medicines called Hepatoprotective agents. It is used in the management of various liver disorders such as acute or chronic hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver with hyperammonemia, or hepatic encephalopathy (a series of neuropsychiatric abnormalities in patients with liver dysfunction after exclusion of brain disease). It can also be used as an adjuvant therapy for all hepatotoxic drugs.

L-ornithine-l-aspartate is made up of two amino acids called ornithine and aspartic acid. Both l-ornithine and l-aspartic acid ensure hepatoprotective effects by decreasing the toxic load on the liver and by providing metabolic support for hepatic cells. Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have severe liver disease, because your doctor might adjust the dose on an individual basis to avoid nausea and vomiting.

Always take this medicine as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. It is well tolerated with minimal side effects. However, if you experience any unusual symptoms after taking this medicine, inform your doctor. Do not take this medicine if you have severe renal impairment. Ask your doctor for advice. Ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

    How LORNIT 500MG TABLET Works

L-ornithine converts toxic ammonia into non-toxic urea, which is eliminated via the kidneys. By doing this, it lowers the elevated level of toxic load (ammonia) in blood and helps the diseased liver to carry out its normal function smoothly (detoxification). L-aspartate is an important component of the citric acid cycle, which liberates energy in the form of ATP, which helps in the regeneration of damaged liver cells.
