Introduction About L PILL KIT
L PILL KIT is a combination of Mifepristone and Misoprostol that belongs to the group of medicines Anti-progestational steroids and Synthetic prostaglandin. It is used for the medical termination of the pregnancy no later than 63 days after the first day of your last menstrual period.
Before taking L PILL KIT, inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver, respiratory problems, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol levels, suffer from an illness that may affect the clotting of your blood, anaemia or malnourished.
L PILL KIT is contraindicated if your pregnancy has not been confirmed, if the first day of your last period was more than 63 days ago, or if your doctor suspects an ectopic pregnancy, have hereditary porphyria, suffer from chronic adrenal failure.
Failure of pregnancy termination (continuing pregnancy) after taking L PILL KIT after the first medicine (mifepristone) leads to increased risk of birth defects like facial paralysis, head, and limb malformations. Consult your doctor before taking it.
L PILL KIT may pass into breast milk, hence stop breastfeeding once you have used the management. Consult your doctor before taking it. L PILL KIT should not be stopped abruptly without consulting the doctor as it may lead to incomplete abortion. Avoid grapefruit juice when you are managed with L PILL KIT.
The common side effects of L PILL KIT are uterine contractions, lower abdominal cramps, heavy bleeding, gastrointestinal cramping, nausea, vomiting or diarrhoea. If any of these side effect get worsen, contact your doctor for advice.

How L PILL KIT Works
L PILL KIT contains Mifepristone blocks the action of the progesterone hormone required in women to continue the pregnancy. Misoprostol increases the uterus contraction and dilates the cervix, that results in expelling the pregnancy. Thus, the combination of Mifepristone and Misoprostol causes termination of pregnancy.
How to use L PILL KIT
Take L PILL KIT as advised by your physician. Check the label before use. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

- severe abdominal pain, fainting, fast heartbeat, fever lasting more than 4 hours
How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea
Drink lots of fluids and water to keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to manage diarrhoea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Nausea And Vomiting
Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Warning & Precautions

Pregnancy
RiskyThere is little information on the risks to the unborn baby. Failure of pregnancy termination (continuing pregnancy) after taking L PILL KIT after the first medicine (mifepristone) has been associated with a 3-fold increased risk of birth defects (particular facial paralysis, head and limb malformations). Consult your doctor before taking it.

Breastfeeding
Consult your doctorL PILL KIT may pass into breast milk hence stop breastfeeding once you have used the> management. Consult your doctor before taking it.

Driving and Using Machines
Use with CautionDo not drive or operate any machines if you feel dizzy after taking L PILL KIT.

Alcohol
ContraindicatedAvoid consumption of alcohol while taking L PILL KIT because it might make you dizzier.

Kidney
Use with CautionL PILL KIT should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function. Consult your doctor for advice before taking L PILL KIT.

Liver
Use with CautionL PILL KIT should be used with caution in patients with liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice before taking.

Allergy
ContraindicatedDo not take L PILL KIT if you are allergic to Mifepristone, Misoprostol, or any other ingredients of the medicine.

Lungs
ContraindicatedL PILL KIT is not recommended if you suffer from severe asthma which cannot be adequately managed with medication. Consult your doctor for advice before taking L PILL KIT.

Heart Disease
Use with CautionL PILL KIT should be used with caution in patients with heart problems, high blood pressure or high blood cholesterol levels. Consult your doctor for advice before taking L PILL KIT.
Others
L PILL KIT is not recommended for use if:
- your first day of your last period was more than 63 days ago
- your doctor suspects an ectopic pregnancy
- you have hereditary porphyria (disorder of the blood)
- you suffer from chronic adrenal failure
Before taking L PILL KIT, inform your doctor if you:
- have undergone genital cutting or circumcision
- suffer from an illness that may affect the clotting of your blood
- are anaemic or malnourished
Interactions
A. Drug - Drug interactions:
Before taking L PILL KIT, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- medicines used to manage asthma or inflammation (Ex. dexamethasone)
- medicines used to manage fungal infection (Ex. ketoconazole, itraconazole)
- antibiotics (Ex. erythromycin)
- St. John’s Wort (natural remedy used to manage mild depression)
- medicines used to manage seizures or epilepsy (Ex. phenytoin, phenobarbital)
- medicines used to manage the body from rejecting a transplanted organ (Ex. cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sirolimus)
- painkiller medicines (Ex. alfentanil, fentanyl)
- medicines used to manage migraine (Ex. ergotamine, diergotamine)
- medicines used to help keep the heart beating normally (Ex. quinidine)
- some medicines used during general anaesthesia
B. Drug - Food interaction:
Avoid grapefruit juice when you are managed with L PILL KIT. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else takes too much of L PILL KIT, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.

Q: What caution is required after management with L PILL KIT?
A: After management you should be aware that uterine bleeding usually starts 1 to 2 days after taking the medicine. The bleeding lasts 2 or 3 weeks, if the bleeding is heavy and prolonged, contact the doctor immediately.
Q: Is it possible to get pregnant immediately again after medical termination of pregnancy?
A: It is recommended that you avoid getting pregnant again soon after the termination of pregnancy. You should therefore start using a method of contraception within 3 to 9 days of taking the L PILL KIT. Discuss with your doctor for further precautions.
Q: Do you feel pain during the management with L PILL KIT?

A: If you forget to use any part of the management, it may not be fully effective which means that your pregnancy may not be completely expelled. Consult with your doctor as you may need further management to end the pregnancy.

A: The bleeding usually continues a few days to two weeks and should become light after the first few days. You may also pass some blood clots or tissue or have light bleeding for longer than two weeks. Consult your doctor if there is a bleeding for a longer period.
