    Introduction About EMOLENE CREAM

    EMOLENE CREAM contains Propylene Glycol which belongs to the group of medicines called Humectants. It is used to manage mild to severely dry skin as seen in xerosis (abnormally dry skin), dry eczema (dry, itchy, inflamed skin), senile dry skin, ichthyosis (dry scaly, thickened skin), neurodermatitis (a skin condition with chronic itching and scaling) and pruritis (itchy skin).

    Before using EMOLENE CREAM, inform your doctor if you have any pre-existing diseases or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The side effects of using EMOLENE CREAM are burning, stinging and redness of the skin. Contact your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen.

    Allergy

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before applying EMOLENE CREAM, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • heparin (used to manage or manage blood clots)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally used too much of EMOLENE CREAM or if you or a child accidentally swallow the medicine, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose especially in children and patients with renal failure include CNS depression. Other effects include liver or kidney impairment, intravascular haemolysis (destruction of red blood cells), fits, coma, arrhythmias (irregular heartbeats) and cardiorespiratory arrest (cessation of heart and lung function).

    Hyperosmolality (high concentration of salts and other substances in the blood) has occurred, particularly in small infants and in patients with kidney impairment and lactic acidosis (too much acid in the body).
