Introduction About DUBAGEST 8% GEL
DUBAGEST 8% GEL contains Progesterone which belongs to the group of medicines called Steroid hormones. It is used to provide extra progesterone to manage infertility due to imbalance of progesterone levels during the menstrual cycle or when you are having an assisted fertility procedure.
DUBAGEST 8% GEL is not recommended for use in patients with unusual vaginal bleeding, known or suspected cancer of the breast or genital organs, blood clots or porphyria disorder and missed abortion (intrauterine death of the embryo or fetus).
Before using DUBAGEST 8% GEL, inform your doctor if you have liver, heart or kidney problems, fits, asthma, migraine, diabetes or depression.
Prior to management with DUBAGEST 8% GEL, your doctor might do a smear test and check your breasts and pelvic area. During your management, your doctor will check for any problems with your womb or any signs of blood clots in your blood vessels.
It is usually not recommended for use during pregnancy, but your doctor might give it to you to support your new pregnancy and it is not recommended for use in breast-feeding women, children and adolescents (below 18 years of age).
The most common side effect of using DUBAGEST 8% GEL is breast tenderness. Consult your doctor if the side effect worsens.

How DUBAGEST 8% GEL Works
DUBAGEST 8% GEL helps you to become pregnant and to stay pregnant by increasing uterine wall receptivity for implantation of an embryo and maintaining the pregnancy after an embryo is implanted.
How to use DUBAGEST 8% GEL
Use DUBAGEST 8% GEL as advised by your physician. It is for vaginal use only. Before applying the gel wash the genital area. Get the applicator ready and then lean back or lie down with your knees bent and spread apart. Carefully insert the applicator well into your vagina, until your hand touches your body and gently press the air tank at the thick end of the applicator firmly to deliver the gel into your vagina. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of management for you depending upon the condition.

Warning & Precautions
Pregnancy
DUBAGEST 8% GEL is generally not recommended for use during pregnancy but your doctor may advice you to continue using it to support your new pregnancy (in case of corpus luteum deficiency and it can be used during the first month of pregnancy). Consult your doctor before using it.
Breastfeeding
DUBAGEST 8% GEL is not recommended for use during breast-feeding. Consult your doctor before using it.
Driving and Using Machines
DUBAGEST 8% GEL does not affect your ability to drive or use any machines.
Kidney
DUBAGEST 8% GEL should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before using it.
Liver
DUBAGEST 8% GEL should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before using it.
Allergy
Do not use DUBAGEST 8% GEL if you are allergic to Progesterone or any other ingredients of this medicine.
Lungs
DUBAGEST 8% GEL should be used with caution in patients with asthma. Consult your doctor before using it.
Heart Disease
DUBAGEST 8% GEL should be used with caution in patients with heart problems. Consult your doctor before using it.
Others
DUBAGEST 8% GEL is not recommended for use if you have:
- unexplained vaginal bleeding
- known or suspected cancer of the breast or genital organs
- blood clot due to swollen veins (thrombophlebitis)
- blocked blood vessel (thromboembolic disorder) or stroke
- porphyria disorder (inherited blood disorder)
- missed abortion (intrauterine death of the embryo or fetus)
Before using DUBAGEST 8% GEL, inform your doctor if you:
- have diabetes (high blood sugar)
- often get migraine
- have fits
- ever had depression
Use in pediatrics:
DUBAGEST 8% GEL is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (under 18 years of age). Consult child’s doctor for advice.
Use in geriatrics:
Safety and effectiveness of DUBAGEST 8% GEL use in elderly patients (over 65 years of age) have not been established. Consult your doctor for advice.
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before using DUBAGEST 8% GEL, inform your doctor if you are taking, have taken or might take any other medicines including prescription, non-prescription or any herbal medicine. Do not use any other vaginal preparation with this medicine.
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally use too much of DUBAGEST 8% GEL, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
