    Introduction About DOXIVERGE INJECTION

DOXIVERGE INJECTION contains Doxycycline which belongs to the groups of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used for the management of various bacterial infections like that of respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, eyes, digestive system, bones, blood, etc. DOXIVERGE INJECTION is also used to manage sexually transmitted infections (Ex. syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia), plague (spreads through rats), cholera (spreads through contaminated water), brucellosis (spreads from animals to human by eating raw dairy products), anthrax (spreads from sheep or cattle), etc.

DOXIVERGE INJECTION can also be used to manage malaria in short-term travellers (<4 months) to areas with chloroquine- and/or pyrimethamine sulphadoxine-resistant strains. It is advised to reduce sun exposure and to use fully covering clothes and sunscreen while going out as there is a chance of getting light sensitivity during management with DOXIVERGE INJECTION.

Before receiving DOXIVERGE INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have myasthenia gravis, systemic lupus erythematosus, history of intracranial hypertension or oral candidiasis, liver or kidney problems, porphyria or if you are an overweight woman of childbearing age.

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the use of DOXIVERGE INJECTION in pregnant women. DOXIVERGE INJECTION should be used in breastfeeding women only if your doctor finds it necessary. DOXIVERGE INJECTION should be used in children (8 years of age or less) only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.

Avoid consumption of alcohol during DOXIVERGE INJECTION management. The most common side effects of receiving DOXIVERGE INJECTION are mild diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, skin rash or itching, headaches and tooth discoloration.
