    Introduction About DICLOBENZ GEL

    DICLOBENZ GEL is a combination of Cyclobenzaprine, Diclofenac, Linseed Oil, Menthol and Methyl Salicylate which belongs to the group of medicines called Muscle relaxants, Non-Steroidal Anti- Inflammatory drugs, Cooling agents and Analgesics. It is used to relieve from the discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions such as rigidity, tension, stiffness and muscle spasms.

    Before using DICLOBENZ GEL tell your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, heart diseases, any allergies, pre-existing diseases, and current health conditions. There are limited information on the use of DICLOBENZ GEL in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your child’s age, body weight and disease condition. Consult your doctor before using DICLOBENZ GEL.

    Caution must be exercised while using DICLOBENZ GEL in elderly patients. The most common side effects of using DICLOBENZ GEL are skin rash, redness, itchiness (pruritis), general skin inflammation (eczema) and inflammation of the skin at the site of application that is characterised by swelling, rash, or papules (dermatitis, contact dermatitis). Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms doesn’t improve or worsens.

    How DICLOBENZ GEL Works

    [GBKEYWORD] works by blocking the nerve signals of pain sensation, where Cyclobenzaprine causes muscle relaxation by inhibiting 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HT2). Diclofenac and Methyl salicylate works by reducing the effects of prostaglandin (substance produced during injury and inflammation causing pain) thereby blocking the pain signals between the brain and nerve endings. Linseed oil helps to reduce inflammation by inhibiting certain chemical substances and strengthens the blood vessel walls thereby reducing fluid leakage. Menthol provides a cooling effect on the skin by causing blood vessels dilatation and it also increase the penetration the medicine into the skin.

    How to use DICLOBENZ GEL

    Apply DICLOBENZ GEL as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of the medicine and gently massage DICLOBENZ GEL on the affected area.

    Side Effects Of DICLOBENZ GEL

    Common

    • skin rash, redness, itchiness  
    • general skin inflammation  
    • inflammation of the skin at the site of application that is characterised by swelling, rash, or papules (dermatitis, contact dermatitis)

    Rare

    • extensive skin changes with scaling, redness, and large bubbles (bullous dermatitis)

    Stop using DICLOBENZ GEL and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • allergic or hypersensitivity reaction includes skin eruption or rash with redness, difficulty in breathing and swallowing
    • wheezing, feeling of chest tightness (asthma)
    • signs of angioedema like swelling especially in face, throat, and lips

    Try to avoid hot showers because it may cause skin irritation. Avoid frequent contact and rubbing over the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. If this symptom does not get better, consult your doctor.
