    Introduction About DART TABLET

    DART TABLET is a combination of Caffeine, Paracetamol, and Propyphenazone belongs to a group of medicines called CNS stimulants, Analgesics & Antipyretics respectively. It is used to manage headaches, body aches, fever, backache, migraine and dental pain.

    Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol while taking DART TABLET. It is not recommended for use in patients with a deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase or haemolytic anaemia, acute hepatic porphyria. Contact your doctor before taking.

    DART TABLET should be used with caution in patients with asthma, chronic rhinitis, chronic urticaria, bone marrow dysfunction, liver or kidney disease. Contact your doctor before taking.

    DART TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnancy. Contact your doctor before taking.

    DART TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking.

    DART TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 12 years of age. Contact your doctor before taking.

    DART TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Contact your doctor before taking.

    The most common side effects of this medicine are skin rash and urticaria. Contact your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.

    It is used to manage:

    • headache
    • body ache

    How DART TABLET Works

    DART TABLET helps with pain, where, Caffeine has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system by blocking adenosine receptors and improving alertness, drowsiness. Paracetamol is an analgesic and antipyretic that works by increasing the pain threshold by inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes and also acts on the heat-regulating centre of the brain and causing peripheral vasodilation, sweating and loss of body heat. Propyphenazone works by blocking COX-1 and COX-2 enzymes which are responsible for pain and inflammation.

    How to use DART TABLET

    Take this medicine as advised by your physician. Swallow this medicine as whole with a glass of water and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of DART TABLET

    Common

    • skin rash
    • urticaria

    Rare

    • thrombocytopenia
    • leukopenia
    • agranulocytosis
    • pancytopenia

    Stop taking DART TABLET and contact your physician immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • severe allergic or anaphylactic reactions such as redness, itching, urticaria, angioedema, dyspnoea or asthma
    • skin reddening, rash, blisters or peeling

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Itchy skin:

    Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Regularly use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if the itching worsens.

    Driving and Using Machines

    DART TABLET has no effect on the ability to drive or use machines.

    Alcohol

    Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking DART TABLET. Consult your doctor for advice.

    Kidney

    DART TABLET should be used with caution in patients with impaired kidney function. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Liver

    DART TABLET should be used with caution in patients with impaired liver function like hepatitis, gilbert’s syndrome. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Allergy

    Do not take DART TABLET if you are allergic to Caffeine, Paracetamol, Propyphenazone or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Lungs

    DART TABLET should be used with caution in patients with asthma, chronic rhinitis. Contact your doctor before taking.

    Others

    DART TABLET is not recommended for use if you have:

    • deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase or haemolytic anaemia
    • acute hepatic porphyria

    Before taking DART TABLET, inform your doctor if you have:

    • bone marrow dysfunction

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Inform your physician if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • medicines used to manage fits (Ex. phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine)
    • rifampicin (medicines used to manage tuberculosis)
    • propantheline, cimetidine (medicines used to manage ulcers)
    • metoclopramide (medicines used to manage nausea and vomiting)
    • chloramphenicol (medicines used to manage bacterial infections)
    • zidovudine (medicines used to manage HIV infection)
    • butabarbital (medicines used to manage insomnia)
    • azelastine (medicines used to manage allergies)
    • lorazepam (medicines used to manage panic disorders, anxiety, fits)
    • oral contraceptives (medicines used to manage pregnancy)
    • disulfiram (medicines used for alcohol withdrawal)
    • theophylline (medicines used to manage asthma)
    • ephedrine (medicines used to manage hypotension)

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.
