    Introduction About CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION

    CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION contains Cetrorelix which belongs to the group of medicines called Gonadotrophin-releasing hormone antagonists. It is used to manage premature ovulation (early release of eggs from ovaries). It is typically used among women during assisted reproductive techniques, where it helps the doctors to collect fertile eggs from the women’s body at the appropriate time.

    CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION stops your body from releasing an egg until it becomes fully matured. When your eggs reach the optimum maturity, your doctor will give you another medicine that will help in releasing them.

    Before receiving CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. It should not be used in pregnant women after successful conception. It is also not recommended for use in breastfeeding women and in children or adolescents (aged below 18 years).

    The most common side effect of receiving CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION is irritation, redness, itching and swelling at the site of injection. Consult your doctor if it troubles you.

    It is used among women undergoing assisted reproductive techniques to:

    • prevent premature ovulation (release of immature eggs from ovaries)
    • prevent premature LH surge

This stops your body from releasing an egg to early during the menstrual cycle which helps the doctors to collect fully grown eggs from the women’s body among women undergoing assisted reproductive techniques to become pregnant.

    How to use CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION

    CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION will be given to you by a doctor or a nurse beneath the skin (subcutaneously) of your belly. It can also be self-administered by the patient if instructed by the doctor. Carefully follow the instructions given by your doctor in case of self-administration.

    Your doctor will decide the correct dose, time of administration and duration of therapy depending upon your body condition.

    Side Effects Of CETROLIX 0.25MG INJECTION

    Common

    • injection site reactions (redness, itching, swelling or mild short or lasting irritation)

    Uncommon

    • headache
    • nausea

    • signs of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (such as lower abdominal pain with sensation of nausea or vomiting, weight gain, difficulty in breathing, difficulty in passing urine, enlarged ovaries and fluid build-up in chest or abdomen)
    • signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, redness, raised lumps, runny nose, irregular or fast heartbeat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, tongue or throat leading to difficulty in breathing or swallowing, dizziness)

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Headache

    Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.

    Injection Site Reactions

    Place an ice pack on the affected area. Do not frequently move the injection site. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

    Nausea And Vomiting

    Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Consult your doctor if your symptom worsens.
