    Introduction About CADILOSE ENEMA

    CADILOSE ENEMA is a combination of Lactulose and Sodium benzoate which belongs to the group of medicines called Laxatives. CADILOSE ENEMA is used to manage constipation and portal systemic encephalopathy. Constipation occurs when stool moves too slowly through the digestive tract or cannot be eliminated effectively from the rectum, which may cause the stool to become hard and dry. Hepatic encephalopathy is deterioration of brain function that occurs in people with severe liver disease because toxic substances normally removed by the liver build up in the blood and reach the brain.

    Before using CADILOSE ENEMA, inform your doctor if you are allergic to Lactulose or Sodium benzoate, have diabetes, or if you are due to undergo a colonoscopy. CADILOSE ENEMA is not recommended, if you have intestinal perforation, galactosaemic (galactose indigestion disorder). Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.

    Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach disorders such as appendicitis or a blockage in your bowel. There are limited studies available on the use of CADILOSE ENEMA during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The common side effects of CADILOSE ENEMA are stomach pain and flatulence. If any of the above side effects worsen contact your doctor immediately.

    How CADILOSE ENEMA Works

    CADILOSE ENEMA is a combination of Lactulose and Sodium benzoate. Lactulose works by absorbing water from the body and into the bowel. This softens stools and makes and helps to reduce ammonia in the blood that is usually present in the patients with liver diseases. It draws ammonia and other toxins from the blood into colon, thereby facilitating the removal. Sodium benzoate along with lactulose helps to aid this process.

    Use CADILOSE ENEMA as advised by your physician. CADILOSE ENEMA is for rectal use only. Your doctor will recommend you how often you can use CADILOSE ENEMA based on your condition.

    Bloating

    • have galactose or fructose intolerance
    • have glucose-galactose malabsorption
    • have intestinal blockage
    • have digestive perforation

    Before taking CADILOSE ENEMA, inform your doctor if you:

    • have diabetes
    • have irritable bowel syndrome
    • are due to undergo a colonoscopy
    • have a history of stomach disorders such as appendicitis or a blockage in bowel

    A. Drug-Drug interactions:

    Before using CADILOSE ENEMA, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • water tablets for management of blood pressure (Ex. furosemide)
    • medicines used to manage severe constipation (Ex. docusate, polyethylene glycol)
    • ondansetron that works as anti-emetics
    • anti-psychotics (Ex. quetiapine)
