Introduction About 3VC PESSARIE
3VC PESSARIE is a combination of Clindamycin and Clotrimazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Antifungal agents respectively. It is used to manage vaginal (genital) infections (Ex. vaginal candidiasis, bacterial vaginosis and mixed vaginal infections). It can also be used to cleanse the genital tract prior to any gynecological procedures.
3VC PESSARIE is meant for intravaginal use only. Carefully insert the medicine deep into the vagina as far as possible. Wash your hands before and after inserting the medicine. Closely follow the dose-related instructions given by your doctor to achieve better results. Skipping doses in between the therapy or stopping the therapy without consulting your doctor may not result in adequate infection control.
While using 3VC PESSARIE, do not engage in vaginal intercourse or use any vaginal products (such as tampons or douches). Before using 3VC PESSARIE inform your doctor if you have any stomach problems (such as colitis). You must also inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding or currently having periods before using 3VC PESSARIE as a precaution.
3VC PESSARIE is generally safe and well tolerated with fewer side effects like mild vaginal itching or irritation, vaginal discharge and mild diarrhea. Consult your doctor if they trouble you.

How 3VC PESSARIE Works
3VC PESSARIE is effective in managing both bacterial and fungal genital infections. It works by killing the susceptible microorganism that causes infection within the body. It contains two medicines namely clindamycin and clotrimazole.
Clindamycin is an antibacterial agent. It blocks the production of certain bacterial proteins which is essential for the bacteria to survival. This action manages the further growth and multiplication of bacteria within the body
Clotrimazole is an antifungal agent. It blocks the production of certain chemicals (ergosterol) within the fungal cell which is essential for its survival. This action kills the susceptible fungi and manages the further spread of infection.
How to use 3VC PESSARIE
Use 3VC PESSARIE as directed by your physician. It is for intravaginal use only. Lie down on your back and place your legs wide apart. Carefully insert the medicine deep into the vagina. Do not move faster, run or stand immediately after inserting the medicine.
Wash your hands before and after inserting the medicine. Do not use this medicine while on your monthly periods. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you based on your age, body weight and health condition.
Do not stop using this medicine without consulting your doctor as it may not completely manage your infection.
Side Effects Of 3VC PESSARIE
Common
- mild vaginal itching, irritation or burning sensation
- vaginal discharge
- mild diarrhea
Rare
Stop using 3VC PESSARIE and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of face, mouth, tongue and throat causing difficulty in breathing)
- worsening of vaginal conditions (including severe vaginal pain, itching and discharge)
- severe stomach pain and/or bloody stools
- severe skin rash with raised lumps, hives and blistering

Pregnancy
There are no adequate studies regarding the use of 3VC PESSARIE in pregnant women. Therefore, it should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Consult your doctor for advice before using it.
Breastfeeding
3VC PESSARIE should be used with caution among breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
Allergy
Do not use 3VC PESSARIE if you are allergic to clindamycin or to clotrimazole.
Others
3VC PESSARIE is not recommended for use if you:
- have a history of stomach conditions (such as regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis)
Before using 3VC PESSARIE, inform your doctor if you:
- have a habit of using tampons or douches
- are currently on your monthly periods
Use in Paediatrics:
Consult your doctor before using this medicine in children (aged below 18 years).
Use in Geriatrics:
Consult your doctor before using this medicine in case of elderly patients (aged 65 years or above).
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before using 3VC PESSARIE, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines such as:
- Other antibiotics (such as erythromycin)
- Other antifungal agents (such as Amphotericin-B and nystatin)
Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally swallowed the medicine, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
