Voveran emulgel can be used topically to treat pain and inflammation in conditions like osteoarthritis of superficial joints such as the knee, localized forms of soft tissue rheumatism, trauma of tendons, ligaments, muscle and joints e.g. due to sprains, strains and bruises. It contains diclofenac sodium which belongs to a group of medicines called nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Diclofenac is a phenylacetic acid derivative which leads to inhibition of cyclooxygenase activity, which in turn leads to the inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis and other inflammatory mediators. It acts as anti-inflammatory and analgesic agent in the treatment of mild to moderate muscle pains, contusions and post-traumatic pain. Voveran emulgel is intended for use in adults and adolescents aged 14 years and over.
Voveran emulgel must not be used during the last 3 months of pregnancy, as it could harm your unborn child or cause problems at delivery. Apply thin layers of this gel in the affected area, 3 to 4 times daily or as directed by your physician and rub gently. The treatment duration depends on the indications and on the response to the treatment. Do not apply this gel on broken or denuded skin.
