VIRALEX TABLET contains Inosine Pranobex which belongs to the group of medicines called Antivirals. It is used to treat Herpes virus infection, Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis. It is also used to treat genital warts in combination with other treatment such as podophyllin or carbon dioxide laser.
An infection caused by the Herpes simplex virus which usually causes lesions on oral mucosa, genitals and skin. Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis (SSPE) is a rare complication of persistent measles infection that causes a progressive neurological disorder affecting the central nervous system (in children and young adults). A sexually transmitted disease caused by the virus human papilloma virus (HPV), resulting in a small lump or swelling on the genitals.
During treatment with VIRALEX TABLET your doctor might conduct blood test and urine test to determine the liver and kidney function.
VIRALEX TABLET is not recommended for use in patients suffering from gout and who have high uric acid levels in their blood. VIRALEX TABLET should be used with caution in patients suffering from kidney disease, urolithiasis (type of kidney stones) and gall bladder stones. Consult your doctor before taking.
VIRALEX TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless clearly necessary. It is not known whether VIRALEX TABLET passes into milk during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before taking.
The most common side effects of taking VIRALEX TABLET are nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, increased uric acid levels, itching, skin rashes, headache, vertigo, fatigue or feeling unwell, joint pain, increased liver enzymes or increased blood urea nitrogen. Contact your doctor if you get any of the above side effects.
Treats:
VIRALEX TABLET works by enhances the immune system and increases the production of antibodies. It helps the body’s immune system to fight against viral diseases and also acts directly on the invading virus.
Take VIRALEX TABLET as recommended by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with water and do not crush or chew the medicine. In case you are not able to take medicine crush it and mix the powder in water or any other favoured liquid and then drink the whole content. Consult your doctor before taking.
Your doctor will decide right dose and duration of medicine according to your body weight, age, and disease condition.
Stop taking VIRALEX TABLET and immediately consult your doctor in case you experience:
Nausea or Vomiting:
Take the medicine, with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food. Contact your doctor if nausea and vomiting worsen.
Itchy skin:
Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin and do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when going outdoors or use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the skin. Contact your doctor if itching persists.
Constipation:
Eat more fibre rich foods such as vegetables, cereals and fresh fruits. Drink water and exercise regularly. Contact your doctor if constipation persists.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat small meals but take frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Contact your doctor if the stomach pain did not improve.
Diarrhoea:
Drink plenty of water or fruit juices to keep you hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for treating diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if diarrhoea worsen.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of water and electrolytes. Apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if needed. Do not consume alcohol. Contact your doctor if your headache did not improve.
Drowsiness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate machinery if you feel drowsiness. Avoid alcohol consumption as it aggravates drowsiness. Contact your doctor if drowsiness worsens.
VIRALEX TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking VIRALEX TABLET.
It is not known whether VIRALEX TABLET passes into breastmilk during use. Consult your doctor if you are breast-feeding.
VIRALEX TABLET have no known effect on the ability to drive or use machines.
VIRALEX TABLET should be used with caution in patients suffering from kidney disease and urolithiasis (type of kidney stones). Consult your doctor before taking VIRALEX TABLET.
Do not take VIRALEX TABLET if you are allergic to Inosine pranobex, gluten, wheat or other ingredients of this medicine.
