INTRODUCTION

TUFCID O SAUNF FLAVOUR SUGAR FREE SUSPENSION is a combination of Magaldrate, Oxetacaine and Simethicone which belongs to the group of medicines called Antacid, Local Anesthetic and Anti-flatulence respectively. It is used for the treatment of acidity, heartburn, gas and stomach ulcers. The stomach is generally protected from acid by a mucous layer.

In some cases, due to excess production of acid, the mucous layer gets eroded, which leads to problems like acidity and heartburn. Bloating occurs when the abdomen is filled with air or gas. Avoid smoking and alcohol consumption while taking TUFCID O SAUNF FLAVOUR SUGAR FREE SUSPENSION as it leads to increased production of stomach acid, thereby increasing acidity and heartburn.

TUFCID O SAUNF FLAVOUR SUGAR FREE SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in patients with hepatic and renal impairments. TUFCID O SAUNF FLAVOUR SUGAR FREE SUSPENSION is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. Oxetacaine is a local anaesthetic that exerts a numbing effect, thereby providing relief from pain due to ulcers or acidic injuries in the stomach. Simethicone is an antiflatulent that works by decreasing gas bubbles' surface tension, thereby facilitating gas expulsion through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents gas accumulation and formation in the digestive tract.

INTERACTIONS

• medicines used to treat epilepsy or convulsion (Ex. phenytoin)
• medicine used as antacids (Ex. aluminium hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide)

• medicines used as antibiotics (Ex. ciprofloxacin, cefpodoxime)
• medicines used to treat viral infections (Antiretroviral) (Ex. Raltegravir)
