Introduction About SINAREST PLUS SYRUP
SINAREST PLUS SYRUP is a combination of Chlorpheniramine, Menthol, Paracetamol, Phenylephrine and Sodium Citrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines, Cooling agents, Analgesics & Antipyretics, Nasal decongestant and Mucolytics respectively. It is used to relieve nasal and sinus congestion, allergic symptoms of the nose or throat due to hay fever, upper respiratory tract allergies (symptoms include runny nose, cough, sneezing, watery eyes, sore throat, body ache, and fever), sinus pain and headache. It is also used in combination with antibacterial in sinusitis, tonsillitis and otitis media.
SINAREST PLUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with liver dysfunction, severe kidney disease, severe high blood pressure and glaucoma. Contact your doctor before taking. SINAREST PLUS SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, diabetes mellitus, fits and hyperthyroidism. Contact your doctor before taking. SINAREST PLUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnancy unless considered clearly necessary. Contact your doctor before taking.
SINAREST PLUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before taking. SINAREST PLUS SYRUP should be used with caution in children under 2 years of age. Contact your doctor before taking. SINAREST PLUS SYRUP should be used with caution in elderly patients aged above 65 years. Contact your doctor before taking. The most common side effects of taking SINAREST PLUS SYRUP are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, headache, dizziness and sedation. Contact your physician if any of the above side effects worsen.

It is used to relieve:
- nasal and sinus congestion
- allergic symptoms of the nose or throat due to hay fever, upper respiratory tract allergies
- sinus pain and headache
How SINAREST PLUS SYRUP Works
SINAREST PLUS SYRUP helps to relief cold and flu where Chlorpheniramine blocks the binding of histamine (responsible for allergic reactions such as sneezing, watery and itchy eyes, and runny nose) to Histamine H1receptors, thus managing allergic reactions. Menthol helps to give the sensation of breathing easier and reduces cough by acting on the cold receptors present in the nose and throat. Paracetamol belongs to Analgesics and Antipyretics works to stop the pain messengers from getting through to the brain and also acts in the brain to reduce fever. Thus, decreasing pain and fever. Phenylephrine works by reducing congestion in the upper respiratory tract, including the nose, nasal passages and sinuses, and making it easier to breathe. Sodium Citrate belongs to Mucolytics, thins and loosen phlegm in the nose, trachea and lungs helps to make coughing easier.
How to use SINAREST PLUS SYRUP
Take SINAREST PLUS SYRUP as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your physician will decide the correct dose and duration depending upon age, body weight and disease condition.

How To Manage Side Effects

Diarrhea
Drink plenty of water or fruit juices to keep you hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for managing diarrhoea. Contact your doctor if diarrhoea did not improve.

Dizziness Or Drowsiness
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume alcohol, as it increases dizziness. Contact your doctor if dizziness did not improve.

Headache
Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes and apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if required. Do not consume alcohol. Contact your doctor if headache worsens.

Nausea And Vomiting
Take this medicine with, or just after food. Eat simple meals and avoid oily or spicy foods. Contact your doctor if nausea and vomiting did not improve.

Skin rash Or Itching
Avoid hot water bath as it irritates the skin and do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Regularly use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if rashes worsen.

Heart Disease
Consult your doctorSINAREST PLUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in severe high blood pressure. It should be used with caution in cardiovascular diseases such as myocardial disease, bradycardia, partial heart block or severe arteriosclerosis. Contact your doctor before taking.

Use In Pediatrics

Use In Geriatrics

Others
SINAREST PLUS SYRUP is not recommended for use if you have:
- glaucoma

- hyperthyroidism
- fits or seizures
- bladder neck obstruction
- GI obstruction
- malnutrition
- severe dehydration
- Raynaud's phenomenon
- prostatic enlargement
Interactions
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before taking SINAREST PLUS SYRUP, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- amitriptyline (medicines used to manage depression)
- salbutamol, ephedrine (medicines used to manage asthma)
- propranolol (medicines used to manage high blood pressure, heart diseases)
- methyldopa, reserpine, veratrum alkaloids (medicines used to manage high blood pressure)
- digoxin (medicines used for heart failure)
- warfarin (medicines used to manage blood clots)
- metoclopramide (medicines used to manage nausea and vomiting)
- antidepressants with anticholinergic properties
- oxycodone, tramadol (medicines used to manage severe pain)
- chloramphenicol (medicines used for bacterial infections)
- phenytoin (medicines used to manage fits/seizures)
- probenecid (medicines used to manage gout)
- cholestyramine (medicines used to manage high blood cholesterol levels)
- zidovudine (medicines used to manage HIV infections)
- hypnotics or anxiolytics (Ex. diazepam, lorazepam)
