    Introduction About SINAREST NASAL SPRAY

    SINAREST NASAL SPRAY is a combination of Oxymetazoline and Sorbitol which belongs to the group of medicines called Nasal decongestants and Sugar alcohols respectively. It is used to relieve nasal congestion due to cold, upper respiratory allergies, or sinusitis.

    Nasal congestion is defined as stuffy nose that occurs when nasal and adjacent tissues and blood vessels become swollen with excess fluid, causing a "stuffy" packed feeling.

    During course of the management your doctor might regularly examine your condition to avoid any untoward side effects. Safety and effectiveness of SINAREST NASAL SPRAY in children have not been established.

    Before using SINAREST NASAL SPRAY, inform your doctor if you have any heart problems. It has not been studied in pregnancy and breastfeeding, so consult your doctor before using it.

    The most common side effects of using SINAREST NASAL SPRAY are local stinging or burning feeling, sneezing, and dryness of the mouth and throat. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

    How SINAREST NASAL SPRAY Works

    SINAREST NASAL SPRAY relieves stuffy nose where Oxymetazoline acts on alpha-adrenergic receptors in the vessels of the conjunctiva and nasal mucosa, leading to narrowing of vessels, resulting in decreased conjunctival congestion, decreased blood flow, and decreased nasal congestion, and Sorbitol manages dehydration and improves miniaturization of nasal mucosa.

    How to use SINAREST NASAL SPRAY

    Use SINAREST NASAL SPRAY as advised by your physician. It is for intranasal use only. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

    Side Effects Of SINAREST NASAL SPRAY

    Common

    • local stinging or burning feeling
    • sneezing
    • dryness of the mouth and throat

    Rare

    • anxiety
    • extreme tiredness
    • irritability
    • sleeping trouble (in children)
    • rapid or throbbing heartbeat
    • increased blood pressure
    • swelling of the nasal lining
    • headache, nausea
    • flushing, rash
    • visual disturbances

    Stop using SINAREST NASAL SPRAY and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

    • blocked nose

    How To Manage Side Effects

    Nausea:

    Take SINAREST NASAL SPRAY with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy food.

    Headache:

    Drink ample amount of water. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Ask your doctor before taking any medicine for headache.

    Pregnancy

    Breastfeeding

    Kidney

    Safety and effectiveness of SINAREST NASAL SPRAY in patients with renal failure have not been established. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Liver

    Safety and effectiveness of SINAREST NASAL SPRAY in patients with impaired liver have not been established. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Allergy

    Do not use SINAREST NASAL SPRAY if you are allergic to Oxymetazoline or Sorbitol or any other ingredients of this medicine.

    Heart Disease

    SINAREST NASAL SPRAY should be used with caution in patients with high blood pressure and coronary artery disease. Consult your doctor before using it.

    Others

    Before using SINAREST NASAL SPRAY, inform your doctor if you:

    • have high thyroid levels
    • have high blood sugar levels

    Interactions

    A. Drug - Drug interactions:

    Before using SINAREST NASAL SPRAY, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:

    • medicines used to manage depression (Ex. selegiline, amitriptyline)
    • medicines used to reduce blood pressure (Ex. labetalol, sotalol)
    • other medicines containing oxymetazoline

    Overdosage:

    If you or anyone else accidentally uses too much of SINAREST NASAL SPRAY, contact your doctor immediately.

    How long can I use SINAREST NASAL SPRAY?

    Use SINAREST NASAL SPRAY for as long as directed by your doctor. It is not recommended to use for more than one week. If you use it for longer period than recommended, it may cause rebound congestion and drug-induced rhinitis. Contact your doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days of use.

    Is SINAREST NASAL SPRAY safe to use in pregnancy and breastfeeding?
