INTRODUCTION

RIFAXIMAX 100MG contains Rifaximin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used in adults and in children (aged 2 years or above) to treat infectious diarrhea. Infectious diarrhea is a stomach condition caused due to intestinal infections. It causes severe diarrhea which may be presented with stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting or fever.

Rifaximin is an intestinal antibiotic. It kills the susceptible bacteria that causes infection by blocking the actions of certain enzymes in the bacteria that is required for its survival. As a result, it stops the growth and multiplication of the harmful bacteria in the gut and controls diarrhea.
