RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION contains Progesterone which belongs to the group of medicines called Steroid hormones. It is used to treat amenorrhea (missed periods) and abnormal uterine bleeding (abnormal bleeding from the womb cavity) due to hormonal imbalance in the absence of organic pathology like submucous fibroids or uterine cancer.
It can also be used as a progesterone supplementation in women (34 years of age and younger) who cannot use vaginal preparations and undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF) or treatment in an Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) program.
Before receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, asthma, epilepsy or migraine headaches before receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION as a precaution.
RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with breast cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, blood clot problems or unusual vaginal bleeding. RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in breast-feeding women, children and adolescents (below 18 years of age).
RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION can be used during the first three months of pregnancy. However, it should not be used in women who have ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside the womb) and in women who had a history of idiopathic jaundice or other skin problems during their earlier pregnancies.
The most common side effects of receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION are pain, redness, itching, irritation or swelling at the injection site, vaginal bleeding, headache, bloating, nausea and constipation. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects bothers you.
Talk to your doctor immediately if you experience any changes in body weight or feel depressed while receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION.
It is used:
RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION helps you to become pregnant and to stay pregnant by increasing uterine wall receptivity for implantation of an embryo and maintaining the pregnancy after an embryo is implanted. It also regulates hormonal balance in the body and corrects abnormal uterine bleeding.
RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse either into the muscles (as intramuscular injection) or under the skin (as subcutaneous injection). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you according to your age, body weight and disease condition.
Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects after receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION:
Nausea:
Take regular sips of cold drink. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. If nausea does not improve, inform your doctor.
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Drink plenty of fluids. Try taking rest in a quiet and dark room. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Inform your doctor if your headache does not reduce.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink plenty of water. Do minimal exercises (such as walking). If the symptom does not improve, inform your doctor.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller meals more frequently. If the symptom gets worse inform your doctor.
Bloating:
Try to increase your physical activity during daytime. Do not or limit the intake of carbonated drinks. Avoid eating foods which causes bloating such as beans, lentils and others. Always eat smaller and frequent meals and chew your food properly while eating. Inform your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Avoid consumption of alcohol while receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION.
RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION.
RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients who have or had severe liver problems. It should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION.
Do not receive RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Progesterone or any other ingredients of this medicine.
RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients who have or had any blood clots in the lungs (pulmonary embolism). It should be used with caution in patients with asthma. Consult your doctor before receiving RECOGEST N 200MG INJECTION.
