Can QUTIPIN be taken by an elderly person with dementia?
QUTIPIN must be used with caution in elderly patients with dementia. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking. Your doctor will access your health condition and would decide whether you should take QUTIPIN or not.
What are the common side effects of QUTIPIN?
QUTIPIN may increase your blood sugar or cholesterol levels. It may also cause dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, sleepiness, headache, or weight gain. Contact your doctor if any of these side effect worsens. Also, inform your doctor immediately if your mood becomes excessively depressed along with thoughts of self-harming or killing after taking QUTIPIN.
Can QUTIPIN cause weight gain?
Yes. You may gain weight after taking QUTIPIN. Please keep a check on it by monitoring your weight, having healthy balanced diet, and exercising regularly. Inform your doctor if you gain weight excessively after taking QUTIPIN.
How to take QUTIPIN?
Take QUTIPIN as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. QUTIPIN should be taken at least one hour before meals or prior to bedtime.
Is QUTIPIN safe to use in pregnancy?
QUTIPIN is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women. However, consult your doctor before taking. Studies have shown the onset of certain withdrawal symptoms (such as shaking, weakness, sleepiness, breathing problems and difficulty in feeding) in babies born to women taking QUTIPIN during their pregnancy.
Can QUTIPIN be used in children?
No. QUTIPIN is not recommended for use in children and adolescents below 18 years of age due to increased side effects. Consult your doctor for advice before taking QUTIPIN.
What should I do if I forget to take a dose of QUTIPIN?
If your forgot to take a dose of QUTIPIN, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time to take the next dose of QUTIPIN, skip the missed one and take the regular dose. Do not take a double dose of QUTIPIN to compensate the missed dose.
Can I stop taking QUTIPIN on my own?
Do not alter or discontinue the daily dose of QUTIPIN after feeling better without consulting your doctor. Take QUTIPIN for the stipulated duration mentioned by your doctor. You may experience headache, diarrhoea, vomiting, dizziness, irritability, nauseous or may be unable to sleep on stopping QUTIPIN suddenly.
Can I drive a car after using QUTIPIN?
Do not drive or travel after taking QUTIPIN as you may experience drowsiness or blurred vision after taking QUTIPIN which may hamper your responses and to lead to accidents.
Can I use QUTIPIN without consulting a doctor?
No. QUTIPIN should be used only under medical supervision and after thorough mental assessment. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy with QUTIPIN for you depending upon your age, body condition and severity of the disease condition.
