What is PROLOMET R 25mg Tablet used for?

PROLOMET R 25mg Tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure, angina, heart attack and congestive heart failure.

How does PROLOMET R 25mg Tablet work?

In PROLOMET R 25mg Tablet , Metoprolol Succinate belongs to the class of drugs called beta-blockers. This drug acts on the B1 receptors of the heart to decrease the heart rate and cardiac output. This inhibits the renin angiotensin aldosterone system, which causes vasodilation and decrease in sodium and water retention.

Ramipril belongs to the class of angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. It acts by blocking the angiotensin-converting enzyme in the renin angiotensin aldosterone system. This inhibits the effects of angiotensin-1 and decreases the blood pressure.

How to take PROLOMET R 25mg Tablet?

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take PROLOMET R 25mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the drug with or without food. However, taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.
