What PALNOX 0.25MG is used for?

  • It is used for the prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy in adults

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have acute bowel obstruction or a history of repeated constipation
  • have or a family history of alterations in heart rhythm (QT prolongation), other heart problems
  • have an imbalance of certain minerals in blood (potassium and magnesium)
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • This medicine can be given to children and adolescents over one month of age
  • Your doctor will give you the right dose based on your child’s age and body weight
  • Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine as it may cause dizziness or tiredness

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, citalopram, escitalopram (used to treat depression or anxiety)
  • This medicine will be given by a doctor or nurse
  • It will be injected about 30 minutes before the start of chemotherapy

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • dizziness
  • constipation and diarrhoea
  • high or low blood pressure
  • abnormal heart rate or lack of blood flow to the heart
  • change in the color of the vein and/or veins becoming larger
  • abnormally high or low levels of potassium in the blood
  • high levels of sugar in the blood or sugar in the urine
  • low levels of calcium in the blood
  • high levels of the pigment bilirubin in the blood
  • high levels of certain liver enzymes
  • elevated moods or feeling of anxiousness
  • sleepiness or trouble sleeping
  • decrease or loss of appetite
  • weakness, tiredness, fever or flu like symptoms
  • numbness, burning, prickling or tingling sensations on the skin
  • itchy skin rash
  • impaired vision or eye irritation, ringing in the ear
  • hiccups, flatulence, dry mouth or indigestion
  • abdominal or joint pain
  • difficulty urinating
  • jerky body movement
  • nose bleed
  • pain at the site of infusion

  • swelling of the lips, face, tongue or throat, having difficulty breathing, lumpy rash (hives)
