Introduction About OLSAR M 50MG TABLET
OLSAR M 50MG TABLET is a combination of Metoprolol and Olmesartan which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensive agents. It is used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure). It can also be used to reduce the risk of heart attack (myocardial infarction), stroke, chest pain (angina) and uneven heartbeat (arrhythmia).
Before taking OLSAR M 50MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, thyroid problems, asthma, poor blood circulation, psoriasis, allergic reactions or gout as a precaution.
OLSAR M 50MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe low blood pressure, uncontrollable heart failure or heart block. It is also not suitable for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women as it may cause serious harm to the growing baby.
The most common side effects of taking this medicine are low blood pressure, slow or fast heart rate, cold hands and feet, headache, dizziness, nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, sore throat, cough, high blood cholesterol levels and swollen ankles. This allows blood to flow more smoothly across the blood vessels. It also reduces the heart rate and force of contraction of heart muscles. Collectively, these actions reduce the strain on the heart and helps the heart to pump more blood with less pressure.
How to use OLSAR M 50MG TABLET
Take OLSAR M 50MG TABLET as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition. Do not stop taking this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Constipation
Eat plenty of fibre rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, and cereals. Drink plenty of fluids. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if this side effect bothers you.

- potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics such as spironolactone, triamterene or amiloride (used to retain or increase potassium levels in the body)
- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (used for pain relief) such as indomethacin, celecoxib, sulindac, ibuprofen, aspirin
- colesevelam (a medicine used to manage high blood cholesterol levels)
